O sintoma em psicanálise: entre o corpo e o sentido

This works aims to discuss the issue of the symptom , particularly somatic symptoms , from the perspective of psychoanalysis. The catalyst for this study were issues related to the current clinical practice and phenomena that has the body as a way of expression commonly presented to the psychoanalyst, and challenges the directions of interpretation as they are often presented as refractory to free association method. The work aims to demonstrate that even under these circumstances the psychoanalytic method can help to achieve respectable clinical results. For this, the methodology was a conceptual research. To develop the hypothesis, the concept of body in History was initially approached, giving context to address the body in relation to psychoanalysis, which starting from Freud's first conception of purely anatomical body, until his contact with the hysterical symptoms, preparing the ground for his elaboration of an instinctual body. At the second chapter, the symptom and its relationship to the body through the formulations of Freud, was addressed, initially in relation to the hysterical symptom, where the author leaves the indications of deep unconscious articulations in the constitution of these symptoms, moving on to the analysis of Freud 's comments about the actual neurosis, that indicates that there is a central point in this symptons that would refers to the somatic, more specifically , the marks created in the constitution of this instinctual body. In the third chapter the discussion is aimed at symptoms beyond a sense or meaning. Was the articulation between the lacanian concept of Real and the functions of the Sinthome, which leaded to the conclusion that even escaping to a sense, the symptom in its somatic expression, has a function for the subject, being bound to the instinctual body constitution, therefore subject to the effects of speech.
