Resumo: | The poultry industry generates a high quantity of the so-called poultry litter. Among the nutrients present in the poultry manure, the nitrogen stands out, because it has more quantity and complexity, making it difficult to manage in the soils of tropical regions, due to the number of reactions that occur in the soil and the losses, mainly volatilization of the ammonia that can cause economic and environmental damage. In order to mitigate N losses, products that inhibit the action of urease inhibiting enzymes can be used. Birds, especially chickens, are the most efficient animals in the transformation of plant products into animal protein. However, as in other human activities of production, it generates a quantity of waste that must be properly disposed. The great demand for forest products led to a significant increase in the area of planted forests, with the Eucalyptus genus being the most representative occupying more than 75% of the planted area in the country. One of the great challenges of the forest sector is the production of wood without harming the environment, since this culture has accelerated growth and therefore consumes the resources of soil, water and nutrients. Recycling is currently a globally established practice and is one of the most feasible proposals for the reuse of waste in agriculture. Residues that have in their constitution high levels of organic matter, macro and micronutrients, properly handled, can be an excellent chemical soil conditioner. The objectives of this work were: i) to evaluate the action of the urease inhibitor and poultry litter doses on soil chemical attributes, nitrogen volatilization, colony forming units of microorganisms, morphological characteristics and nutritional contents of the leaves and roots of plants. For this, two experiments were installed, the first in a greenhouse and the other in a forest area of eucalyptus, both in a completely randomized design in factorial arrangement with additional treatment (2 x 6) + 1 (control), two types of poultry manure with and without urease inhibitor (NBPT) and six poultry manure doses (5, 10, 20, 40, 80 and 160 t ha-1) plus control in four replicates, for a total of 52 pots. The NBPT (N-(n-butyl) thiophosphoric triamide urease inhibitor showed no influence on soil chemical attributes, ammonia volatilization, colony forming units, plant morphological attributes and nutritional attributes of leaves and roots. The values of K, Mg, S, B in the leaves of the litter changed the soil chemical attributes. The poultry litter doses affected nitrogen lost by volatilization, number of actinomycetes, total colony forming units, morphological attributes of eucalyptus plants, amount of K, Mg, S, B on shoot and N, P, Ca, Mg, S, Cu, Mn, Zn on roots. Doses of poultry litter above 40 t ha-1 have potential for contamination by salinity and alkalinity. |
