This work of dissertation presented to the post - graduate program in Social Service of the State University of Paraíba denominated: Work and Social Work: an analysis of the conception of precarization of the work present in the debate of the profession has as objective to analyze the debate of the phenomenon of the precarization of the work in the field of Social Service from the conceptions of the studies of Giovanni Alves and Ricardo Antunes studious authors of the category work in the historical conditions bibliographical analysis of the works and articles referring to the thematic presented, allowing the theoretical deepening, through the interpretative reading of the contents relevant to the study. We tried to enter the discussion of the crisis of the capitalist mode of production, and its repercussions for the class - that - lives - of - work. For this, it was identified as the crisis of capital and productive restructuring had direct impacts on the precariousness in the world of work, in the world order and in Brazilian particularity. From the conceptions of Alves and Antunes, authors of Marxist affiliation sought to problematize the process of precarization of work and its repercussions, as an important phenomenon in contemporary times. Analyzes show that capitalism in its most recent decades has been presenting a trend in which flexibilization, outsourcing, informality and unemployment are vital mechanisms for the process of structural precarization of work, both for preservation and for expansion of the destructive logic of capital. Judging by the importance of this study, the research seeks to help in the debate about the relations and working conditions of the social worker as a salaried worker included in this whole process of exploitation and precarization of work, in order to contribute to the academic formation and therefore professional practice. Finally, it was intended to foster the production of knowledge of Social Work and related areas, noting the important contribution of the works of the authors referendados on the alleged debate of the precariousness of work, as well as the centrality of the category of work in capitalist social relations and the revolutionary potential of the working class.
