Resumo: This was a descriptive and observational study, with a qualitative approach, whose research field was the Municipal Center for Senior Citizens, located in the city of Campina Grande, Paraíba, Brazil. The general objective was to identify the perception of elderly people about the experiences and potential for promoting mental health in a social group in Primary Health Care, being developed through the following specific objectives: - To evaluate the experiences of elderly people about the social group in relation to the promotion of mental health; To investigate the perceptions of elderly people about the social group as a space for promoting mental health; To describe the potentialities and/or weaknesses of the social group in relation to the promotion of mental health. The sample was made from a convenience sample, totaling thirteen people, with data collected between May and September 2024. The instruments used in data collection were: 1) Mini-Mental State Examination; 2) sociodemographic and health form of the participants; 3) interview script on the perception of elderly people about the potential of the social group in relation to the promotion of mental health in Primary Care. The analysis of subjective data was based on the Content Analysis proposed by Bardin, while the objective data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The research followed the principles of bioethics in which equity, autonomy and justice were considered, established by Resolution No. 466 of December 12, 2012 of the National Health Council and was approved by opinion number: 6,466,247. The results of the research demonstrated a greater presence of females aged between 60 and 80 years and with some type of comorbidity. The thematic categorical analysis provided four thematic categories and one subcategory, namely: Category 1 - Social interaction as a source of well-being, and one Subcategory - Experiences in the social group and the promotion of mental health; Category 2 - The social group as a protective factor against loneliness and mental suffering in the elderly; Category 3 - The social group as a promoter of health activities; Category 4: The social group as a promoter of care and attention; and subcategory 1 - The social group as a promoter of care in normal or pathological aging. It was concluded that social groups are instruments that can assist in the process of promoting the health of the elderly, since they encourage the performance of activities, as well as the establishment of interaction and social ties that culminate in a support network capable of promoting the well-being, leisure and development of the elderly.

O objetivo geral foi identificar a percepção de pessoas idosas sobre as vivências e potencialidades de promoção a saúde mental em um grupo de convívio na Atenção Primária a Saúde, sendo desenvolvido através dos seguintes objetivos específicos: - Avaliar as vivências da pessoa idosa acerca no grupo de convívio em relação à promoção à saúde mental; Averiguar as percepções de pessoas idosas acerca do grupo de convívio como espaço de promoção à saúde mental; Descrever as potencialidades e/ou fragilidades do grupo de convívio em relação a promoção à saúde mental. A amostra feita a partir de uma amostragem por conveniência, totalizando treze pessoas, sendo os dados coletados entre os meses de maio a setembro de 2024. Os instrumentos utilizados na coleta de dados foram: 1) Miniexame do Estado Mental; 2) formulário sociodemográfico e de saúde das pessoas participantes; 3) roteiro de entrevista sobre a percepção de pessoas idosas sobre as potencialidades do grupo de convívio em relação a promoção a saúde mental na Atenção Primária. A análise dos dados subjetivos foi feita com base na Análise de Conteúdo proposta por Bardin, enquanto os dados objetivos foram analisados mediante estatística descritiva. A pesquisa seguiu os princípios da bioética em que se considerou a equidade, a autonomia e a justiça estabelecidos pela Resolução nº 466 de 12 de dezembro de 2012 do Conselho Nacional de Saúde e foi aprovada por parecer de número: 6.466.247. Os resultados da pesquisa demonstraram uma maior presença do sexo feminino com idade entre 60 e 80 anos e portadoras de algum tipo de comorbidade. A análise categorial temática proporcionou quatro categorias temáticas e uma subcategoria, a saber: Categoria 1 - A interação social como fonte de bem-estar, e uma Subcategoria - As vivências no grupo de convívio e a promoção da saúde mental; Categoria 2 - O grupo de convívio como fator protetor contra a solidão e o sofrimento mental da pessoa idosa; Categoria 3 - O grupo de convívio como promotor de atividades em saúde; Categoria 4: O grupo de convívio como promotor de acolhimento e atenção; e a subcategoria 1 - O grupo de convívio como promotor de acolhimento no envelhecimento normal ou patológico. Concluiu-se que os grupos de convivência demonstram-se como instrumentos que podem auxiliar no processo de promoção da saúde da pessoa idosa, uma vez que suscitam a realização de atividades, bem como o estabelecimento de interação e laços sociais que culminam em uma rede de apoio capaz de promover o bem-estar, o lazer e o desenvolvimento da pessoa idosa.application/pdfUniversidade Estadual da ParaíbaPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Psicologia da Saúde - PPGPSUEPBBRCentro de Ciências Biológicas e da Saúde - CCBSAgingHealth PromotionMental healthCIENCIAS DA SAUDEEnvelhecimentoPromoção da SaúdeSaúde MentalPercepção de pessoas idosas sobre a promoção de saúde mental em grupo de convivio na atenção primária a saúdeEnvironmental perception of a group of children of the Chi da Pia/Areia community - PBinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisClementino, Francisco de SalesSilva, Josevânia daMedeiros, Fabiola de Araújo Leitehttp://lattes.cnpq.br/9436411737454938Morais, Kevin Fontellesinfo:eu-repo/semantics/embargoedAccessporreponame:Repositório Institucional da Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (UEPB)instname:Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (UEPB)instacron:UEPBTHUMBNAILDS - Kevin Fontelles Morais.jpgDS - Kevin Fontelles Morais.jpgGenerated Thumbnailimage/jpeg3040https://repositorio.uepb.edu.br/bitstreams/e7c38a3f-4ed9-4f71-88ce-585179d26dfa/download214b35d2e98320ba5f2a99baa956a056MD511falseAnonymousREADTermo de Depósito BDTD.jpgTermo de Depósito BDTD.jpgGenerated Thumbnailimage/jpeg4604https://repositorio.uepb.edu.br/bitstreams/9a0e307b-0b00-4717-8b39-f4b2084ba35d/download04d9befb883ed1e94eecdff27ad3619aMD512falseAdministratorREAD2999-12-31LICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
