Resumo: Cowpea (Vigna unguiculata) has high nutritional value and socioeconomic importance, mainly in developing countries, being food based and contributing to the permanence of man in the field. The choice of locally adapted, productive varieties with resistance to pests and diseases is a crucial factor for good agricultural productivity. Local varieties are selected in the agroecosystem of cultivation by farmers according to their productivity and resistance to biotic and abiotic stresses. The objective of this study is to characterize morphoagronomically and molecularly; and to evaluate the resistance to pests and diseases of cultivars and local varieties of cowpea in two municipalities in the state of Paraíba. Eight genotypes of cowpea were used, being five local varieties (Verde Ligeiro, Semper Verde, Cariri, Azul and Corujinha) and three cultivars developed by Embrapa (BRS Pajeú, BRS Novaera and BRS Guariba). The trials were conducted in the municipalities of Lagoa Seca (Campus II of the UEPB) and Esperança (Advice of Technical Assistance in Alternative Agriculture - AS-PTA). The qualitative morphoagronomic data evaluated were: growth habit (GH), flower color (CF), seed form (SF), seed color (SC) and mature pod color (MPC). The quantitative data evaluated were number of days for flowering (NDF), mass of 100 seeds (M100S), pod length (PL), pod width (PW), number of pods (PN), number of seeds per pod (NSP), seed mass per plant (SMP) and yield (YIE). Four readings were performed for analysis of plant height (PH), plant width (PW), number of main stem nodes (NSN), stem diameter (SD) and leaf area (LA). The incidence and severity of pests and diseases were evaluated throughout the production cycle. In the municipality of Esperança a quantitative complementary evaluation of the stud ied genotypes was carried out, through a participatory evaluation with the farmers. There are morphoagronomic variability among the eight genotypes of cowpea tested. With the exception of BRS-Guariba, the variable number of seeds per pod is influenced by the environment among the genotypes. The variety Corujinha, cultivars BRS-Pajeú and BRS- Guariba obtained greater resistance to powdery mildew.The cultivars BRS-Novaera and BRS- Guariba present good average values for pod number, but low average values for number of seeds per pod. The cultivar BRS-Novaera had high infestation of bed bugs. The cultivar BRS-Novaera has high susceptibility to powdery mildew and cercosporiosis. The results of the participative qualitative and quantitative evaluation of the farmers are correlated with those from the research for the parameters evaluated growth habit, plant height, and size of pods. As for molecular analysis, 43 oligonucleotide ISSRs (Inter-Simple Sequence Repeats) were tested, among which eleven were selected for the molecular analyzes, since they generated clear and consistent fragments. ISSR markers contributed to genetic differentiation and the dendrogram generated by UPGMA separated the genotypes into two genotypic groups by the polymorphic profile. The highest value of genetic similarity occurred among the genotypes of Sempre Verde and Verde Ligeiro, being the most genetically similar. As the Sempre Verde and Verde Ligeiro varieties were those that presented the least distance between them, it indicates a possible narrow genetic base. The data were interpreted as qualiquantitative for morphoagronomic and qualitative binary characters for molecular markers. It is concluded that the genotypes Corujinha, BRS-Pajeú e Azul have greater productivity and resistance to pests and diseases in the conditions studied in the present work.

A escolha de variedades adaptadas localmente e produtivas e com características de resistência a pragas e doenças é um fator crucial para uma boa produtividade agrícola de qualquer espécie. Variedades crioulas são selecionadas no agroecossistema de cultivo pelos agricultores de acordo com a sua produtividade e resistência a estresses bióticos e abióticos. Objetiva-se nesse estudo, caracterizar de forma morfoagronômica e molecular; e avaliar a resistência de cultivares e variedades crioulas de feijão-caupi a pragas e doenças em dois municípios no estado da Paraíba. Foram utilizadas oito variedades de feijão-caupi, sendo cinco de variedades crioulas (Verde Ligeiro, Sempre Verde, Cariri, Azul e Corujinha) e três de cultivares desenvolvidas pela Embrapa (BRS Pajeú, BRS Novaera e BRS Guariba). Os ensaios foram conduzidos nos municípios de Lagoa Seca (Campus II da UEPB) e Esperança (Assessoria de Assistência Técnica em Agricultura Alternativa - AS-PTA). Os dados morfoagronômicos qualitativos avaliados foram: hábito de crescimento (HC), cor da flor (CF), forma da semente (FS), cor da semente (CS) e cor da vagem matura (CVM). Dentre os caracteres quantitativos foram avaliados número de dias para a floração (NDF), amostra da massa de 100 sementes (M100S), comprimento da vagem (CV), largura da vagem (LV), número de vagens (NV), número de sementes por vagem (NSPV), massa de sementes por planta (MSP) e produtividade em grãos (PROD).Sendo realizadas quatro leituras de análise de crescimento da altura da planta (AP), largura da planta (LP), número de nós do caule principal (NNCP), diâmetro do caule (DC) e área foliar (AFO). A incidência e severidade de pragas e doenças foram avaliadas durante todo o ciclo de produção. No município de Esperança foi realizada avaliação qualiquantitativa complementar dos genótipos estudados, por meio de avaliação participativa de forma conjunta com os agricultores. Há variabilidade morfoagronômicas entre os oito genótipos de feijão- caupi. Com exceção da BRS-Guariba, a variável número de sementes por vagem é influenciada pelo ambiente entre os genótipos. A variedade Corujinha, as cultivares BRS- Pajeú e BRS-Guariba obtiveram maior resistência ao oídio. As cultivares BRS-Novaera e BRS-Guariba apresentam bons valores médios para número de vagens, mas baixos valores médios para número de sementes por vagem. A cultivar BRS-Novaera teve elevada infestação de percevejos. A cultivar BRS-Novaera tem alta suscetibilidade a oídio e a cercosporiose. Os resultados da avaliação qualiquantitativa participativa dos agricultores estão correlacionados com os oriundos da pesquisa para os parâmetros avaliados hábito de crescimento, altura da planta, número de vagens e tamanho das vagens. Quanto à análise molecular, foram testados 43 oligonucleotídos ISSR (Inter-Simple Sequence Repeats), dentre os quais, onze foram selecionados para as análises moleculares, pois geraram fragmentos claros e consistentes. Os marcadores ISSR contribuíram para a diferenciação genética e o dendrograma gerado pela UPGMA separou os genótipos em dois grupos genotípicos pelo perfil polimórfico. O maior valor de similaridade genética ocorreu entre os genótipos populacionais de feijão-caupi Sempre Verde e Verde Ligeiro, sendo os mais semelhantes geneticamente. Como as variedades Sempre Verde e Verde Ligeiro foram as que apresentaram menor distância entre si, indica possível base genética estreita. Os dados foram interpretados como qualiquantitativos para os caracteres morfoagronômicos e qualitativos binários para os marcadores moleculares. Conclui-se que os genótipos BRS-Pajeú, Corujinha e Azul têm maior produtividade e resistência a pragas e doenças nas condições estudadas no presente trabalho.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESapplication/pdfUniversidade Estadual da ParaíbaPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Ciências Agrárias - PPGCAUEPBBRPró-Reitoria de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa - PRPGPPró-Reitoria de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa - PRPGPCIENCIAS AGRARIASVigna unguiculataFeijão-caupiMarcadores molecularesEstresse bióticoEstresse abióticoCaracterização morfoagronômica e molecular de variedades crioulas e cultivares de feijão-caupi em cultivo orgânicoinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisArriel, Nair Helena Castrohttp://lattes.cnpq.br/6436236152448398Nascimento, Luciana Cordeiro dohttp://lattes.cnpq.br/9865847708815725Melo, Alberto Soares dehttp://lattes.cnpq.br/3736022078444776Correa, Elida Barbosahttp://lattes.cnpq.br/3308762941982851http://lattes.cnpq.br/0238989354546581Diniz, Lidiane Rodriguesinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessporreponame:Repositório Institucional da Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (UEPB)instname:Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (UEPB)instacron:UEPBLICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
