Resumo: Obesity is a public health problem that affects the health of children and adolescents early. Among the several factors involved in its etiology are aspects of the environment in which people live, called obesogenic, as well as parental practices, which can favor unhealthy food consumption and physical inactivity, with consequent weight gain. Therefore, the relationship between the obesogenic environment and parental practices with overweight (overweight / obesity) in school adolescents was assessed. This was a case-control study nested in an intervention study conducted with students of both sexes, aged between 12 and 16 years, from public schools in Campina Grande, Paraíba, Brazil, with adolescents with an index body mass ≥ +2 z-scores (obesity) and overweight (≥ + 1 z-score and <+2 z-score) and, as controls, eutrophic (≥ -2 z-score and <+1 score -z), matched by gender, age and class. The final sample consisted of 148 adolescents, 80 cases and 68 controls, in addition to their parents / caregivers. Sociodemographic characteristics of adolescents and their parents / caregivers were assessed, in addition to nutritional status. To assess the obesogenic environment, aspects of the home environment, characteristics of the adolescents' displacement, sedentary and eating behaviors were investigated, all using a form. Regarding educational parenting practices, it was evaluated through three factors described in the child's food questionnaire (QAC) adjusted for this study. Statistical analyzes were performed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software, version 22.0. To test the association, between cases and controls, with demographic, biological and obesogenic environment variables and parental practices, Odds Ratio (OR) was calculated, adopting the lowest risk category as the reference category. Pearson's chi-square test was used, with Fisher correction, when necessary. For all analyzes, the 95% confidence interval was considered. It was possible to observe that the majority were: female, 55% in the cases and 45% controls; 53% of cases and 48% of controls were over 12 years of age; residents with father and / or mother 53% in cases, and 47% in controls. Regarding nutritional status, 48 (32.4%) were overweight, 32 (21.6%) were obese and 68 (46.0%) were eutrophic. Among the caregivers: the majority had less than eight years of schooling, 59% in cases and 41% in controls; and in the nutritional status classified as overweight / obesity (79.1%), 62% in cases and 38% in controls, being associated with the adolescent's nutritional status (OR = 5.688, p <0.01). Regarding the obesogenic environment, with regard to the characteristics of the home environment, there was no statistically significant association with the nutritional status of the adolescents, as well as with sedentary behaviors and eating habits considered inappropriate. There was a high percentage of adolescents who do not practice physical activity outside school (66.2%), who spend at least two hours a day in front of screens (85.8%) and who spend less than that time in activities that they run (79.7%); in addition, all reported eating out at home five times a week. Regarding parenting practices, there was a higher percentage of overweight / obesity among adolescents submitted to restrictive practices related to the consumption of sweets; already under pressure to eat, among the caregivers who disagree with this practice, a significantly higher proportion of overweight / obese adolescents was observed; and there was a higher percentage of overweight children among parents / caregivers who report monitoring the consumption of caloric foods most of the time. Thus, it is concluded that, although the characteristics of the obesogenic environment have not been shown to be associated with the adolescent's nutritional status, when combined with negative educational parenting practices, the risk of adolescents developing overweight and obesity is increased, especially in terms of nutritional status. caregivers.

Dentre os diversos fatores envolvidos na sua etiologia estão aspectos do ambiente no qual as pessoas vivem, denominados de obesogênicos, bem como as práticas parentais, que podem favorecer o consumo alimentar não saudável e o sedentarismo, com consequente ganho de peso. Diante disso, avaliou-se a relação do ambiente obesogênico e das práticas parentais com o excesso de peso (sobrepeso/obesidade) em adolescentes escolares. Tratou-se de um estudo caso-controle aninhado em um estudo de intervenção conduzido com estudantes de ambos os sexos, com idade entre 12 e 16 anos, de escolas públicas de Campina Grande, Paraíba, Brasil, sendo definidos como casos os adolescentes com índice de massa corporal ≥ +2 escores-z (obesidade) e aqueles com sobrepeso (≥+1 escore-z e < +2 escore-z) e, como controles, os eutróficos (≥ -2 escore-z e < +1 escore-z), pareados por sexo, idade e turma. A amostra final foi composta por 148 adolescentes, sendo 80 casos e 68 controles, além de seus pais/cuidadores. Foram avaliadas características sociodemográficas dos adolescentes e seus pais/cuidadores, além do estado nutricional. Para avaliar o ambiente obesogênico, investigou-se aspectos do entorno domiciliar, características do deslocamento dos adolescentes, comportamentos sedentários e alimentares, todos através de formulário. Já em relação às práticas parentais educativas, avaliou-se através de três fatores descritos no questionário de alimentação da criança (QAC) ajustado para este estudo. As análises estatísticas foram realizadas no software Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), versão 22.0. Para testar a associação, entre casos e controles, com as variáveis demográficas, biológicas e relativas ao ambiente obesogênico e práticas parentais foi calculada a Odds Ratio (OR), adotando como categoria de referência a de menor risco. Utilizou-se o teste do qui-quadrado de Pearson, com correção de Fisher, quando necessário. Para todas as análises foi considerado o intervalo de confiança de 95%. Foi possível observar que a maioria eram: do sexo feminino sendo 55% nos casos e 45% controles; tinham mais de 12 anos de idade 53% dos casos e 48% nos controles; residentes com o pai e/ou mãe 53% nos casos, e 47% nos controles. Com relação ao estado nutricional, 48 (32,4%) apresentaram sobrepeso, 32 (21,6%) obesidade e 68 (46,0%) eutrofia. Dentre os cuidadores: a maioria tinha menos de oito anos de escolaridade, sendo 59% nos casos e 41% nos controles; e no estado nutricional classificado como sobrepeso/obesidade (79,1%), sendo 62% nos casos e 38% nos controles, mostrando-se associado ao estado nutricional do adolescente (OR = 5,688, p<0,01). Quanto ao ambiente obesogênico, com relação às características do entorno do domicílio não houve associação estatisticamente significante com o estado nutricional dos adolescentes, assim como com comportamentos sedentários e hábitos alimentares considerados inadequados. Registrou-se um elevado percentual de adolescentes que não praticam atividade física fora da escola (66,2%), que passam pelo menos duas horas diárias diante de telas (85,8%) e que gastam menos do que esse tempo em atividades que fazem correr (79,7%); além disso, todos relataram comer fora de casa pelo menos cinco vezes na semana. Em relação às práticas parentais, verificou-se maior percentual de sobrepeso/obesidade entre os adolescentes submetidos a práticas restritivas relativas ao consumo de doces; já em pressão para comer observou-se, entre os cuidadores que discordam desta prática, uma proporção significativamente maior de adolescentes com sobrepeso/obesidade; e verificou-se um maior percentual de crianças com excesso de peso entre os pais/cuidadores que relatam monitorar o consumo de alimentos calóricos na maior parte do tempo. Assim, conclui-se que, embora as características do ambiente obesogênico não tenham se mostrado associadas ao estado nutricional do adolescente, quando aliado a práticas parentais educativas negativas, aumenta-se o risco de os adolescentes desenvolverem sobrepeso e obesidade, principalmente no tocante estado nutricional dos cuidadores.Conselho Nacional de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico - CNPqapplication/pdfUniversidade Estadual da ParaíbaPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Saúde Pública - PPGSPUEPBBRPró-Reitoria de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa - PRPGPPró-Reitoria de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa - PRPGPObesityTeensSAUDE COLETIVAAmbiente obesogênicoAdolescentesObesidadeRelação do ambiente obesogênico e das práticas parentais com o estado nutricional de adolescentesinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisMedeiros, Carla Campos MunizVianna, Rodrigo Pinheiro de ToledoPalmeira, Poliana De AraújoCarvalho, Danielle Franklin deCanuto, Pollyanna Jorgeinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessporreponame:Repositório Institucional da Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (UEPB)instname:Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (UEPB)instacron:UEPBLICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
