Resumo: Family farming currently plays an indispensable role in society, moving important food networks, as in the Brazilian northeast, but it requires the need to promote agriculture that is less harmful to the environment, while at the same time being profitable for producers. In this context, this work aims to understand the fundamental processes that regulate production flows and their relationships between ecological, economic, and social indicators of agroecological-based systems in the Brazilian semi-arid region. To achieve this, we carried out a study within the semi-arid region of Brazil. The work was developed within the scope of the Participatory Research Project entitled “Mapping Agricultural Systems Resilient to Climate Change and Desertification”, the product of a partnership between the National Seminary Institute (INSA) and the Small Farmers Movement (MPA). Data and information from 61 agroecological-based production systems, located in 44 municipalities in seven states located in the Brazilian semi-arid region, were analyzed using the LUME method. The data found were Agroecologicalization Index, Monetary Profitability, Cultivated Biodiversity, Autonomy, Responsiveness, Social Integration, Gender Equity and Youth Protagonism. Then, the data were statistically treated using multivariate analyses. Initially, cluster analysis was carried out to delimit groups, based on the Agroecologization and Monetary Profitability Index. Next, the statistical difference between the groups formed was tested, regarding the set of economic, ecological, and systemic indicators. Finally, to understand how the collected data behaved in a multivariate dimension, we performed a Principal Component Analysis. As main results, we found that, of the universe of 61 developed systems, 10% (Group 1) presented high ecological reciprocity (Agroecologization Index) and efficiency (Monetary Profitability), while 28% (Group 2) presented low ecological reciprocity and efficiency, and finally, 63% (Group 3) obtained medium ecological reciprocity and low efficiency. Finally, within the multivariate space we observe that the Agroecologization Index, Monetary Profitability and Autonomy are characters that greatly affect the variation of the data. We therefore infer that the adoption of agroecological practices, mainly in the reuse of resources produced within the system, is of utmost importance to increase the autonomy and profitability of agroecological-based systems in the Brazilian semi-arid region.

Neste contexto este trabalho tem por objetivo entender os processos fundamentais que regulam os fluxos de produção e suas relações entre indicadores ecológicos, econômicos e sociais de sistemas de base agroecológica no semiárido brasileiro. Para isso realizamos um estudo no âmbito da região semiárida do Brasil. O trabalho foi desenvolvido dentro da esfera do Projeto de Pesquisa Participativo intitulado “Mapeamento de Sistemas Agrícolas Resilientes a Mudanças Climáticas e Desertificação”, produto de uma parceria entre o Instituto Nacional do Seminário (INSA) e o Movimento de Pequenos Agricultores (MPA). Foram analisados dados e informações de 61 sistemas de produção de base agroecológica, localizados em 44 municípios de sete estados inseridos na região semiárida brasileira, utilizando o método LUME. Os dados coletados foram Índice de Agroecologização, Rentabilidade Monetária, Biodiversidade cultivada, Autonomia, Responsividade, Integração Social, Equidade de gênero e Protagonismo da Juventude. Em seguida, os dados foram tratados estatisticamente por meio de análises multivariadas. Inicialmente, foi realizada análise de agrupamento para delimitação de grupos, baseado no Índice de Agroecologização e Rentabilidade Monetária. Em seguida, foi testada a diferença estatística entre os grupos formados, quanto ao conjunto de indicadores econômicos, ecológicos e sistêmicos. Finalmente, para compreender como os dados coletados se comportavam em uma dimensão multivariada, realizamos uma Análise de Componentes Principais. Como principais resultados, verificamos que, do universo de 61 sistemas analisados, 10% (Grupo 1) apresentaram alta reciprocidade ecológica (Índice de Agroecologização) e eficiência (Rentabilidade Monetária), já 28% (Grupo 2) apresentaram baixa reciprocidade ecológica e eficiência, e por fim, 63% (Grupo 3) apresentaram reciprocidade ecológica média e baixa eficiência. Por fim, dentro do espaço multivariado observamos que o Índice de Agroecologização, a Rentabilidade Monetária e a Autonomia são caracteres que contribuem bastante para a variação dos dados. Inferimos então que, a adoção de práticas agroecológicas, principalmente na reutilização de recursos produzidos dentro do sistema é de suma importância para incrementar na autonomia e rentabilidade de sistemas de base agroecológica no semiárido brasileiro.Conselho Nacional de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico - CNPqapplication/pdfUniversidade Estadual da ParaíbaPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Ecologia e Conservação - PPGECUEPBBRPró-Reitoria de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa - PRPGPPró-Reitoria de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa - PRPGPCIENCIAS BIOLOGICASAgroecologia]Agricultura familiarSustentabilidadeRentabilidadeSemiáridoEconomia ecológica de sistemas de base agroecológica no semiárido brasileiroinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisTrovão, Dilma Maria de Melo Britohttps://orcid.org/0000-0002-7213-5153http://lattes.cnpq.br/9847281267040916Bezerra, Francisco Gilney Silvahttps://orcid.org/0000-0001-9635-0336http://lattes.cnpq.br/1565640401714398Marin, Aldrin Martin Pérezhttps://orcid.org/0000-0001-9855-3284http://lattes.cnpq.br/9814607951325299https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4695-4873http://lattes.cnpq.br/3557724814571238Pequeno, José Ricson Borgesinfo:eu-repo/semantics/embargoedAccessporreponame:Repositório Institucional da Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (UEPB)instname:Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (UEPB)instacron:UEPBLICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
