Resumo: Considered a highly diverse group, freshwater fish communities are greatly influenced by disturbances to aquatic environments. The northeastern semi-arid region, which was considered for a long time little diverse, supports rich communities and endemic species, according to current studies, but the region's environmental conditions such as low precipitation, temperature increase and habitat loss are factors that affect the region. maintenance and structuring of these communities. The association of these factors with human action, such as the construction of water storage dams, can affect the way these ecosystems function due to their dynamics. Since these artificial ecosystems are considered heterogeneous and complex, with chemical and physical multiformity, reservoir river connectivity will determine the conditions and integrity of these ecosystems, as well as predation as it is responsible for regulating prey through top-down control. Considering the peculiar characteristics of these ecosystems, studies have been directed to understand the structure of the ichthyological communities in the region, which are influenced by smaller scale abiotic elements and larger scale abiotic elements. In the environment, the availability of resources has great interference in exploitation and forms of interactions between species, since its abundant availability is exploited widely and when scarce, is exploited in a specialized way due to the intensification of predation and competition, This relationship allows the partitioning of resources and, consequently, coexistence, a mechanism that helps maintain the community and is associated with morphological, physiological and behavioral characteristics. Because of this association, ecomorphology points to morphology as the main responsible for species performance and this approach has been applied for the efficiency of inferring ecological aspects, especially in ichthyological communities, for the diversity of adaptations and ease of measuring morphological characteristics. Given the varied and complex conditions to which the ichthyological communities of the reservoirs are exposed, the study aims to analyze the morphological characteristics in order to characterize the life habits of ichthyological communities of three reservoirs of the Paraiban semiarid by applying the ecomorphological approach.

A região do semiárido nordestino, a qual foi considerada por muito tempo pouco diversa, sustenta comunidades ricas e espécies endêmicas, segundo apontam estudos atuais, porém as condições ambientais da região como baixa precipitação, aumento da temperatura e perda de habitat são fatores que afetam a manutenção e estruturação dessas comunidades. A associação desses fatores à ação humana, como a construção de barragens para armazenamento de água, podem afetar a forma de funcionamento desses ecossistemas em razão de sua dinâmica. Sendo esses ecossistemas artificiais, considerados heterogêneos e complexos, com multiformidade química e física, a conectividade entre reservatório e rio determinará as condições e integridade desses ecossistemas, bem como a predação uma vez que é responsável pela regulação de presas através do controle top-down. Considerando as características peculiares desses ecossistemas estudos tem sido direcionados a entender a estruturação das comunidades ictiológicas na região, as quais são influenciadas por elementos abióticos em menor escalas e abióticos em maior escala. No ambiente, a disponibilidade de recursos tem grande interferência na exploração e formas de interações entre as espécies, uma vez que disponibilizado em abundância tem sua exploração de forma abrangente e quando escasso, é explorado de forma especializada em razão da intensificação da predação e competição, essa relação permite o particionamento dos recursos e por consequência a coexistência, mecanismo que auxilia a manutenção da comunidade e está associado às características morfológicas, fisiológicas e comportamentais. Em razão dessa associação, a ecomorfologia aponta a morfologia como principal responsável pelo desempenho das espécies e essa abordagem tem sido aplicada pela eficiência de inferir aspectos ecológicos, principalmente em comunidades ictiológicas, pela diversidade de adaptações e facilidade de mensurar as características morfológicas. Diante das condições variadas e complexas as quais as comunidades ictiológicas dos reservatórios estão expostas, o estudo objetiva analisar as características morfológicas a fim de caracterizar os hábitos de vida de comunidades ictiológicas de três reservatórios do semiárido paraibano aplicando a abordagem ecomorfológica.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESapplication/pdfUniversidade Estadual da ParaíbaPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Ecologia e Conservação - PPGECUEPBBRPró-Reitoria de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa - PRPGPPró-Reitoria de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa - PRPGPLimnologyEcomorphological attributesIchthyofaunaCIENCIAS BIOLOGICASIctiofaunaLimnologiaAtributos ecomorfológicosEcomorfologia da ictiofauna de reservatórios do semiáridoinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisSeveriano, Juliana dos SantosRamos, Telton Pedro AnselmoBarbosa, José Etham de LucenaLima, Railla Maria Oliveirainfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessporreponame:Repositório Institucional da Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (UEPB)instname:Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (UEPB)instacron:UEPBLICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
