Resumo: Introduction: Tuberculosis (TB) still persists as a major challenge to global public health. This challenge has become even greater due to the strong health and social crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. This accentuated the fragilities, concerns and fears that permeate the experience of individuals affected by TB, in addition to having a negative impact on the performance of TB control and follow-up actions. In this sense, it is essential to understand how people diagnosed with pulmonary TB experienced the disease during the pandemic period. Objective: To understand the implications of the COVID-19 pandemic in coping with tuberculosis in a municipality in northeastern Brazil. Methodology: This is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach, developed in a municipality in the state of Paraíba. The sample was obtained by convenience and theoretical saturation of the data, and consisted of 11 people diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis between 2020 and 2021. Data were collected through a semi-structured interview script, audio recordings with an average duration of 9 minutes. For data processing, the Iramuteq software (Interface de R pour les Analyses Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de Questionnaires) was used, and then they were analyzed through the Content Analysis technique proposed by Bardin and the theoretical framework of vulnerabilities. The research was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the State University of Paraíba under opinion n. 6.123.440. Results: Government measures such as social distancing contributed to generate or potentiate programmatic vulnerabilities such as: non-performance of home visits and DOT, interruption of treatment, delay and misconceptions in the diagnosis. In addition, the pandemic has accentuated the fear of death if there was contamination with COVID-19. On the other hand, the support of the family, the follow-up of TB treatment by PHC, the care in a welcoming way, the nurse as an enhancer of treatment adherence, and the social isolation itself with a view to reducing prejudice, facilitated coping with the disease. Final Considerations: The urgency and relevance of strengthening policies and investments to maintain TB control and monitoring actions is clear, even in periods of health crisis. In addition, health professionals need to understand how people affected by TB feel and thus offer comprehensive and more humanized care, identifying the health needs of each individual.

Esse desafio tornou-se ainda maior devido à forte crise sanitária e social, causada pela pandemia da COVID-19. A qual fez acentuar as fragilidades, preocupações e medos que permeiam a vivência dos indivíduos acometidos por TB, além de impactar negativamente na realização das ações de controle e acompanhamento da TB. Nesse sentido, é fundamental compreender como as pessoas diagnosticadas com TB pulmonar vivenciaram a doença durante o período pandêmico. Objetivo: Compreender as implicações da pandemia da COVID-19 no enfrentamento da tuberculose, em um município do Nordeste brasileiro. Metodologia: Trata-se de um estudo descritivo de abordagem qualitativa, desenvolvido em um município do estado da Paraíba. A amostra foi obtida por conveniência e saturação teórica dos dados, sendo composta por 11 pessoas diagnosticadas com tuberculose pulmonar entre os anos 2020 e 2021. Os dados foram coletados através de um roteiro de entrevista semiestruturado, áudio gravadas e com duração média de 9 minutos. Para o processamento dos dados foi utilizado o software Iramuteq (Interface de R pour les Analyses Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de Questionnaires), e em seguida foram analisados através da técnica de Análise de Conteúdo proposta por Bardin e o referencial teórico de vulnerabilidades. A pesquisa foi aprovada pelo Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa da Universidade Estadual da Paraíba sob parecer nº 6.123.440. Resultados: Medidas governamentais como o distanciamento social contribuiu para gerar ou potencializar vulnerabilidades programáticas e social como: a não realização das visitas domiciliares e do TDO, interrupção do tratamento, atraso e equívocos no diagnóstico, estigmatização. Além disso, a pandemia acentuou o medo da morte caso houvesse a contaminação com a COVID-19. Em contrapartida, o apoio da família, o acompanhamento do tratamento para TB pela APS, a assistência de forma acolhedora, o enfermeiro como potencializador da adesão ao tratamento, e o próprio isolamento social com vistas a diminuição do preconceito, facilitaram o enfrentamento da doença. Considerações Finais: Fica nítida a urgência e relevância de fortalecer políticas e investimentos para que as ações de controle e acompanhamento da TB sejam mantidas, mesmo em períodos de crise sanitárias. Além disso, os profissionais de saúde precisam compreender como a pessoa acometida por TB se sente e assim oferecer um cuidado integral e mais humanizado, identificando as necessidades de saúde de cada indivíduo.application/pdfUniversidade Estadual da ParaíbaPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Saúde Pública - PPGSPUEPBBRPró-Reitoria de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa - PRPGPPró-Reitoria de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa - PRPGPTuberculosisPandemicCovid-19VulnerabilitieSAUDE COLETIVATuberculosePademiaCovid-19VulnerabilidadeCompreensão da percepção dos sujeitos sobre o enfrentamento da tuberculose durante a pandemia da covid-19info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisFook, Sayonara Maria Liahttps://orcid.org/0000-0003-4892-2891http://lattes.cnpq.br/734522779561159Silva, Talina Carla dahttp://orcid.org/0000-0001-8859-1738http://lattes.cnpq.br/1386411473907330Santos, Cláudia Santos Martinianohttp://lattes.cnpq.br/6402590026361880Pinto, Mayrla Limahttp://lattes.cnpq.br/3145255454728717Figueiredo, Tânia Maria Ribeiro Monteiro dehttp://orcid.org/0000-0001-6197-2936http://lattes.cnpq.br/4012484326422419https://orcid.org/0009-0002-4697-0080https://lattes.cnpq.br/5140411142034068Farias, Thaynara Eloise Baracho de Albuquerqueinfo:eu-repo/semantics/embargoedAccessporreponame:Repositório Institucional da Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (UEPB)instname:Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (UEPB)instacron:UEPBLICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
