Resumo: Water is an essential and fundamental resource for the existence of life on Earth, and can be exploited in surface and underground sources. The exploitation of aquifers, for the most part , is a way of "cushioning" the negative impacts generated by water scarcity around the world, however the use of groundwater must meet the quality standards imposed by legislation, such as the Ordinance of the Ministry of Health 2914/2011, when destined for human consumption. The present work aimed to analyze the physico-chemical and microbiological quality of the water from tubular wells located near an urban reservoir in Campina Grande -PB and to emphasize the risks associated to the uses of these waters. To identify the prevailing uses of groundwater in the study area, questionnaires were applied in a statistically significant sample to identify the predominant uses of the study area. The collections occurred in the period from February to August 2017, with the determination of physical-chemical and microbiological indicators of water quality. The sample data set was subjected to descriptive statistical analysis of variance (ANOVA) and the determination of the Pearson coefficients. In general, it was verified that the area of study was predominantly commercial being the main use of groundwater to clean environments, however it is important to evidence the existence of human intake with these groundwater. Users who drank this water used homemade treatments such as chlorine disinfection and boiling water, but according to the physico- chemical and microbiological analyzes performed at point P6, which was groundwater treated with chlorine at home, did not meet the standards imposed by the Ordinance of the Ministry of Health 2914/2011 being improper for human consumption by exceeding the VMP of chloride, fluoride, total dissolved solids-SDT and total coliform microbiological and Escherichia coli. For the physical-chemical and microbiological analysis of raw groundwater, the results also did not comply with the standards of potability, currently in force in Brazil, which according to chloride, fluoride, total dissolved solids and total coliform microbiological indicators and Escherichia coli this water poses a risk to public health if intended for human intake. To this inadequacy, several factors may be related, among them, the contamination of the water table by point sources, such as septic tanks, drainage channels and contaminated water bodies and, in the case of groundwater treated locally and empirically with chlorine, contamination was attributed to the deficiency in cleaning maintenance in the reservoir.

A explotação de aquíferos, em sua maior parte, é uma forma de ―amortecer‖ os impactos negativos gerados pela escassez hídrica em todo o mundo, no entanto o uso das águas subterrâneas deve atender aos padrões de qualidade impostos pela legislação, como a Portaria do Ministério da Saúde 2914/2011, quando destinada ao consumo humano. O presente trabalho objetivou analisar a qualidade físico- química e microbiológica das águas de poços tubulares localizados no entorno de um açude urbano em Campina Grande-PB e enfatizar os riscos associados aos usos dessas águas. Para identificar os usos preponderantes das águas subterrâneas na área de estudo, foi aplicado questionários em uma amostra estatisticamente significante visando identificar os usos preponderantes da área de estudo. As coletas ocorreram no período de fevereiro a agosto de 2017, com a determinação de indicadores físico-químicos e microbiológicos da qualidade da água. O conjunto de dados amostrais foi submetido à análise estatística descritiva, de variância (ANOVA) e a determinação dos coeficientes de Pearson. De um modo geral, foi verificado que a área de estudo era preponderantemente comercial sendo o principal uso das águas subterrâneas a limpeza de ambientes, no entanto é importante evidenciar a existência de ingestão humana com essas águas subterrâneas. Os usuários que bebiam essa água, faziam a utilização de tratamentos caseiros como a desinfecção com cloro e à fervura de água, porém de acordo com as análises físico-química e microbiológica realizada no ponto P6, que foi a água subterrânea tratada com cloro caseiramente, não atendeu aos padrões impostos pela Portaria do Ministério da saúde 2914/2011 sendo impropria para o consumo humano por ultrapassarem o VMP dos indicadores cloreto, fluoreto, sólidos dissolvidos totais- SDT e das análises microbiológicas coliformes totais e Escherichia coli. Para a análise físico-química e microbiológica das águas subterrâneas brutas os resultados também não apresentaram conformidade com os padrões de potabilidade, ora em vigor no Brasil, que de acordo com os indicadores cloreto, fluoreto, sólidos totais dissolvidos e os microbiológicos coliformes totais e Escherichia coli essa água representa risco a saúde pública se destinadas a ingestão humana. A essa inadequação, vários fatores podem estar relacionados, dentre os quais a contaminação do lençol freático por fontes pontuais, como fossas sépticas, canais de drenagem e corpos hídricos contaminados e, no caso da água subterrânea tratada local e empiricamente, com cloro, a contaminação foi atribuída à deficiência na manutenção de limpeza no reservatório.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESapplication/pdfUniversidade Estadual da ParaíbaPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Ciência e Tecnologia Ambiental - PPGCTAUEPBBRPró-Reitoria de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa - PRPGPPró-Reitoria de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa - PRPGPTubular wellGroundwaterStandards of potability.ENGENHARIASÁguas subterrâneas urbanasPoço tubularPadrões de potabilidadeAnálise da qualidade da água de poços no enterno de um Açude Urbano em Campina Grande – PBinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisVieira, Fernando Fernandeshttp://lattes.cnpq.br/1129711375633007Oliveira, Rui dehttp://lattes.cnpq.br/0621382505832223Araújo, André Luis Caladohttp://lattes.cnpq.br/7133712883742750Oliveira, Rui dehttp://lattes.cnpq.br/0621382505832223http://lattes.cnpq.br/4664180725709164Rêgo, Rayssa de Lourdes Carvalho Marinho doinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessporreponame:Repositório Institucional da Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (UEPB)instname:Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (UEPB)instacron:UEPBLICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
