Resumo: The work of thesis sought the application of different routes for the stabilization of the sludge generated in the sewage treatment processes. The studies developed here have sought to associate the treatment of sludge and the recovery of by-products that it offers, such as nutrients, biogas and water. In the first chapter we present an overview of the work, with a survey of the problems associated with this waste, as well as the main measures for final disposal and treatment. The second chapter deals with a review of the literature on sludge, its main characteristics, production and treatment processes. In the third chapter, the sludge generated in the sewage pretreatment processes was evaluated, being this the primary sludge and the acidogenic sludge from anaerobic low TRS reactors (2,4,6 and 8 days). The methodology consisted in the quantitative evaluation of the sludge generated by the two slopes of pre-treatment of the sewage, and also the biogas production from the treatment of these sludges. And in the last chapter sought the application of a new technology for the treatment of aerobic excess sludge from the activated sludge system. For this purpose, a dynamic membrane anaerobic bioreactor (AnDMBR) was used, which associated anaerobic digestion technology plus membrane filtration.

Os estudos aqui desenvolvidos buscaram associar o tratamento do lodo e a recuperação de subprodutos que o mesmo oferece, sendo esses: nutrientes, biogás e água. No primeiro capítulo apresenta-se uma visão geral do trabalho, com o levantamento da problemática associada a esse resíduo, bem como as principais medidas para disposição final e tratamento. O segundo capítulo dispõe sobre uma revisão de literatura acerca do lodo, de suas principais características, da produção e dos processos de tratamento. No terceiro capítulo foram avaliados os lodos gerados nos processos de pré-tratamento do esgoto, sendo este o lodo primário e o lodo acidogênico proveniente de reatores anaeróbios de baixo TRS (2, 4 6 e 8 dias). A metodologia consistiu na avaliação quantitativa de lodo gerado pelas duas vertentes de pré-tratamento do esgoto, e ainda a produção de biogás a partir do tratamento desses lodos. E no último capítulo buscou a aplicação de uma nova tecnologia para o tratamento de lodo de excesso aeróbio do sistema de lodo ativado.
