Resumo: The storage, the treatment and the transmission of the informational content, with the advent of the new technologies of information and communication, are modifying the dimensions of space and time. Whenever a new media appears, new problems, the need for adaptation and transformations come naturally as a consequence. With the development of the Internet, the space of writing and the professional practices of the journalists are reconfiguring. This research aims to study, analyse and discuss these issues in the context of the culture section of the newspapers of Paraíba State: Jornal da Paraíba, Correio da Paraíba, Diário da Borborema, O Norte and A União. It aims to verify the changes occurred in the professional practices of the journalists who are responsible for this section of the newspapers studied and if while producing a journalistic text they are using the Net as a working tool. A descriptive and correlacional research was carried through, looking for describing the reality of the newspapers surveyed. For this, it was used a collection of data based on the selection of the journalistics texts and on interviews. The nature of the research is qualitative, even though it utilised some quantitative data. In the study of the selected texts, it was verified that the the Internet was used in 42,5% of them. It was found that from a total of 16 journalists who had written the texts in study, 87,5% of them had used the Internet on at least one of their texts. It was concluded that the Internet not only influenced the professional practices of these journalists but actually changed them

Sempre que um novo meio de comunicação surge, os problemas, as adaptações e as transformações vêm naturalmente como conseqüência. Com o desenvolvimento da Internet, as redações e as práticas profissionais do jornalismo estão se reconfigurando. A pesquisa se propôs a estudar, analisar e discutir a realidade dos cadernos de cultura dos jornais impressos da Paraíba: Jornal da Paraíba, Correio da Paraíba, Diário da Borborema, O Norte e A União como uma maneira de verificar quais as mudanças ocorridas na prática profissional dos jornalistas que são responsáveis em difundir a cultura nos jornais em estudo e se eles estão utilizando a Rede como ferramenta de trabalho e como subsídio ao produzir uma matéria jornalística. Foi realizada uma pesquisa descritiva e correlacional, procurando descrever a realidade dos jornais estudados. Para isso, utilizou-se uma coleta de dados baseada na seleção das matérias jornalísticas e em entrevistas. A natureza do trabalho é qualitativa, embora se tenha alguns dados quantitativos. No estudo das matérias selecionadas, verificou-se que o uso da Internet se deu em 42,5% delas. Constatou-se também que de um total de 16 jornalistas que redigiram as matérias em estudo, 87,5% deles utilizaram a Internet em pelo menos uma de suas matérias.
