This research aimed to investigate the strategies used by undergraduate students in mathematics in solving shared problems. Our reference was of the research Câmara and Oliveira (2010), which also investigated the strategies used by students in the 6th grade of elementary school. Used as data collection instrument a test, classified into two types A and B. In this test, we have seven questions with sharing problems, according to the thread defined by Marchand and Bednarz (1999). We used as analytical categories constructed by the House and Oliveira (2010) and the classification of problems of algebraic structure type sharing solving strategies. Finally, we perform the analysis of the collected data, verifying the performance and basic strategies used by the subjects of higher education and comparing the results with of the research Câmara and Oliveira (2010). The results showed that students have more difficulty in solving a particular problem sharing the same way that of study Câmara and Oliveira (2010). We also noticed similar relationships in our analysis compared the nature of the problems. The results also indicate that students use the same resolution strategies, regardless of level of education.
