This work deals with the New Bank of Development, as a proposal of the BRICS grouping under the international financial sector. It aims to answer the question "A creation of the New Development Bank (NDB) as part of the financial architecture of the group proposes a new economic order global or establishes itself as an alternative-complementary to institutions existing financing of the sustainable development?" It was analyzed the way the countries that make up the BRICS acted together in the creation of the New Development Bank (NDB), as well as which represents the creation of a new economic institution, in relation to a plea for a reform or inclusion of these countries in global governance today established, more specifically when it comes to the Bretton institutions Woods in the figure of the World Bank. To meet the goals established, the study makes use of an exploratory research, bibliography, from official documents and speeches of the BRICS, constituent documents of the NBD, international agreements; libraries digital and bibliographic bases international as well as news portals. We sought to make a discussion about the BRICS and the New Development Bank as an alternative to the structure international consolidated financing of development in figure of the World Bank. Starting from the problem presented, the theme will be analyzed from what has already been know about the institutional aspects of New Development Bank of BRICS and the active process of international relations which led the BRICS to the initiative of an own institution of financing. As main results, it was found what practical performance of the BRICS went beyond the attempted insertion in governance world economic, with the creation of the New Development Bank, through the intragroup cooperation seeking to act in creating and consolidating an architecture of intragroup governance for purposes - initially - to meet the needs of financing and sustainability of investments in infrastructure and sustainable development of the countries of the group - and later – design financial resources for countries in development that are not members of the grouping to promote improvements in infrastructure. It is also observed that in its constitution and some of its processes granting funding, the NDB innovates in relation to the World Bank – mainly in the speed of approval of projects and not constraints - however, does not break with institutions or structures established international financial institutions, on the contrary, its complementary performance, having as some performance parameters such institutions, suggests more a reform of the established order than a break with it.
