Resumo: | Stage of profound transformations resulting from the productive restructuring, the banking sector experienced one of the most vigorous processes of incorporation of new technologies and organizational innovations, causing an intense computerization of banking work, as well as significant changes in working conditions and, consequently, in the health of its employees. workers. Linked to this is a vast repertoire of situations that corroborate the emergence of occupational stress in this category, such as the high level of demand for reaching goals, work overload, the need to fulfill several different duties, extensive working hours, in addition to the presence of bullying situations. The coexistence, frequency and intensity of these stressors transform the working environment of bank workers into a birthplace of psychic disorders, evidencing, among these, the Burnout syndrome that is characterized by symptoms of emotional exhaustion, dehumanization and disappointment at work, which can lead to the worker to adopt work absenteeism behaviors to face situations that cause illness and psychological suffering. Based on these considerations, this study aimed to verify the relationship between Burnout syndrome, sociodemographic characteristics and work absenteeism in banking professionals working in the interior of Paraíba (N = 147). The following instruments were used: Burnout Characterization Scale - ECB, Labor Absenteeism Factors Scale - EFAL and a Sociodemographic Questionnaire. The results indicate that the researched category is on the verge of burnout syndrome, showing two groups (professionals with a salary range between two and three minimum wages and an age range between 41 and 50 years old) who are already affected by BS, and appearing at work absenteeism as an expression of the negative impact of work on the mental health of these workers. It is suggested as measures to mitigate professional exhaustion that banking institutions create policies for the management of people that value the capacities and potentials of their professionals, favoring the existence of a healthier psychosocial environment. |

It is suggested as measures to mitigate professional exhaustion that banking institutions create policies for the management of people that value the capacities and potentials of their professionals, favoring the existence of a healthier psychosocial environment.Palco de profundas transformações decorrentes da reestruturação produtiva, o setor bancário experimentou um dos mais vigorosos processos de incorporação de novas tecnologias e inovações organizacionais, ocasionando uma intensa informatização do trabalho bancário, bem como mudanças significativas nas condições laborais e, consequentemente, na saúde de seus trabalhadores. Atrelado a isso se encontra um vasto repertório de situações que corroboram para o surgimento do estresse ocupacional nessa categoria, a exemplo do alto nível de cobrança pelo atingimento de metas, sobrecarga de trabalho, necessidade de cumprir várias atribuições distintas, extensas jornadas de trabalho, além da presença de situações de assédio moral. A coexistência, frequência e intensidade desses fatores estressantes transformam o ambiente laboral do trabalhador bancário num nascedouro de transtornos psíquicos, evidenciando-se, dentre esses, a síndrome de Burnout que se caracteriza por sintomas de desgaste emocional, desumanização e decepção no trabalho, podendo levar o trabalhador a adotar comportamentos de absenteísmo laboral para enfrentar situações causadoras de adoecimento e de sofrimento psíquico. A partir dessas ponderações, esse estudo teve como objetivo geral verificar a relação entre síndrome de Burnout, características sociodemográficas e absenteísmo laboral em profissionais bancários atuantes no interior paraibano (N = 147). Foram utilizados os instrumentos: Escala de Caracterização do Burnout – ECB, Escala de Fatores de Absenteísmo Laboral – EFAL e um Questionário Sociodemográfico. Os resultados indicam que a categoria pesquisada encontra-se na iminência da síndrome de burnout, evidenciando-se dois grupos (profissionais com faixa salarial entre dois e três salários mínimos e faixa etária entre 41 e 50 anos) que já se encontram acometidos pela SB, e aparecendo o absenteísmo laboral como uma expressão do impacto negativo do trabalho na saúde psíquica destes trabalhadores. Sugere-se como medidas para mitigar o desgaste profissional que as instituições bancárias criem políticas de gestão de pessoas que valorizem as capacidades e potenciais de seus profissionais, favorecendo a existência de um ambiente psicossocial mais salubre.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESapplication/pdfUniversidade Estadual da ParaíbaPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Psicologia da Saúde - PPGPSUEPBBRPró-Reitoria de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa - PRPGPPró-Reitoria de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa - PRPGPBank EmployeesWork AbsenteeismBurnoutCIENCIAS HUMANASBurnoutBancáriosAbsenteísmo laboralBurnout e absenteísmo laboral: Um estudo sobre a saúde mental de profissionais bancáriosAwake bruxism - diagnosis and management: A scoping reviewinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisCamêlo, Edwirde Luiz SilvaSouza, Paulo César Zambroni deBarbosa, Silvânia da CruzVilaça, Débora Barbosa Guedes de Oliveirainfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessporreponame:Repositório Institucional da Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (UEPB)instname:Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (UEPB)instacron:UEPBTHUMBNAILDS - Débora Barbosa Guedes de Oliveira Vilaça.pdf.jpgDS - Débora Barbosa Guedes de Oliveira Vilaça.pdf.jpgGenerated Thumbnailimage/jpeg3032https://repositorio.uepb.edu.br/bitstreams/5f481651-30cb-462a-b370-a32ece9dde07/downloadafb9da19b10f212314258372ff9efcbcMD54falseAdministratorREADORIGINALDS - Débora Barbosa Guedes de Oliveira Vilaça.pdfDS - Débora Barbosa Guedes de Oliveira Vilaça.pdfDS - Débora Barbosa Guedes de Oliveira Vilaçaapplication/pdf805678https://repositorio.uepb.edu.br/bitstreams/1a9a8cd5-73da-42e3-a48c-4bc3c9f6adbc/download7d7faddf1c66d4cfab3272a9424b2208MD52trueAdministratorREADLICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
