The need to link the school environment to the experience of the students has been one of the crucial points of the current education. In this perspective, literary literacy represents a major advance in the theoretical reflections which come providing a new look at the way of thinking and doing education for better intervention in the classroom. Thus, based on these studies, this research was developed starting from the following guiding question: How does the literary literacy in Portuguese classes can contribute to the motivation and critical training and civic education of students in teaching mode Youth and Adult Education (EJA)? So, believing that the individual relates to the world from the most diverse expression capabilities using the various languages that is known, it is that this research has outlined is to investigate whether the use of the genre line, in Portuguese classes in the Esperança city has contributed to the motivation and critical training and citizen education of students in teaching mode Youth and Adult Education (EJA).Specific objectives, highlight 1) Identify and analyze, from questionnaires, the design language that prevails in school, in Portuguese classes as well as the reflection of this practice in the training of students of adult education; 2) Develop, in a group of cycle 6th of the EJA, and based on literacy theory, a proposal of class plan with reference to the basic sequence proposed by Cosson (2012), using the twine as a teaching resource in classes Portuguese targeting and motivate students a taste for lessons, develop, these students, the critical look at the reality around them. The use of twine is justified because it is a very close genre of reality of the northeastern people, like its language and most recurrent. it‟s a question of theme, a qualitative research type action research, since there was a didactic intervention with the aim of testing the final product, which is an instructional sequence drawn from the proposal by Cosson (2012). Data collect were used also targeted questionnaires to Portuguese teachers of EJA and students of the 6th cycle of the same type of education, both the subjects involved in this research. As a theoretical basis, it used the literacy theory, based on studies of Rojo (2006, 2012), Cosson (2012), Street (2014), Kleiman (1995, 2005 and 2008) and Soares (2009). The qualitative study was founded from documentary, bibliographic and empirical research. The documentary research; based on academic and scientific productions in which it sought to gain greater understanding of literacy theory to support the proposal of educational intervention. We also analyze documents Guidelines and Framework Act, to reflect on the policies for the Youth and Adult Education. This theoretical stage provided subsidies for the development of field research. It can be seen in this study that the literary literacy has not been properly explored in the classroom and the use of didactic sequenceon the basis of didactic sequence contributed significantly to the education of the students involved this search, which reveals the need forevery teacher is always qualifying for the proper exercise of their profession.
