Resumo: This research aims to study the body playing in the teaching practice. The research is constructed by taking the theoretical studies of Janet Moyles (2002, 2006) about the games, and the writings of Michel Foucault (1979, 2007) on the relations of power, discipline and docilization of bodies. The term body playing used in this study was adapted by the author from Moyles (2002) studies on physical play. The questions guiding this research are defined as: How is teaching performance of teachers in relation to the reproduction of the body? What are the theoretical assumptions underlying the work of early childhood educator? How to organize educational work of teachers in the body play in children's education? From these questions arise following objectives: to determine the theoretical assumptions underlying the pedagogical practice play in kindergarten; to describe the role of school teacher in teaching about the body; and analyzing the pedagogical practice of body playing in kindergarten. The study is organized into four chapters. Chapter one relates to the work, the body and education and the consequences generated by the understanding of children, childhood and early childhood education in modernity. In the second chapter discusses the body playing in early childhood education, child's body and educational opportunities. The third chapter describes the methodology of this study, chapter four brings the data and discussion and analysis. The investigation was carried out in the city of Ponta Grossa - PR, in three centers Municipal Kindergarten, where data were obtained from observations, questionnaires and interviews with the participation of twenty educators working in groups of Garden Nursery I and II and Kindergarten I and II. The survey was carried out in the first half of 2010. This study is characterized as descriptive and interpretive. The data were systematized according to Laurence Bardin (1977) content analysis, and analyzed on the basis of triangulation of data (TRIVIÑOS, 2008). According to the data obtained and analyzed, we believe that playing takes place in the educational practice of early childhood education in a context of free activity and weak theoretical base in the practice of educators, which makes it difficult to link the act of playing with the other day activities. Playing is verified in the practice of educators as fragmented actions that do not favor the exploration of body and movement.

Playing is verified in the practice of educators as fragmented actions that do not favor the exploration of body and movement.Tendo em vista que compreendemos o corpo como meio de expressão da criança pequena, capaz de promover a aprendizagem, a fantasia e a criatividade, considerando ainda que possa ser um facilitador das relações humanas, neste estudo abordamos sobre as questões pedagógicas relacionadas ao corpo e ao brincar na Educação Infantil. Sendo que apresentamos como objeto de pesquisa a ação pedagógica do educador que atua na Educação Infantil, no sentido de analisá-la e descrevê-la considerando os aspectos relacionados ao corpo, ao movimento e ao brincar corporal. A pesquisa caracteriza-se como qualitativa, descritiva. Para a fundamentação teórica da pesquisa utilizamos os estudos de Janet Moyles (2002; 2006) acerca do brincar, e os escritos de Michel Foucault (1979; 2007) sobre as relações de poder, disciplinamento e docilização dos corpos. O termo brincar corporal utilizado neste estudo foi adaptado pela autora a partir dos estudos de Moyles (2002) sobre o brincar físico. As questões que norteiam esta pesquisa estão definidas como: Como é a atuação pedagógica do educador em relação ao brincar corporal? Quais os pressupostos teóricos que fundamentam a atuação do educador da infância? Como o educador da infância organiza o trabalho pedagógico relativo ao brincar corporal na Educação Infantil? Diante destas questões decorrem os seguintes objetivos: verificar os pressupostos teóricos que fundamentam a prática pedagógica lúdica na Educação Infantil; descrever a atuação pedagógica do professor da Educação Infantil em relação ao corpo, ao movimento e a ludicidade; analisar a prática pedagógica em relação ao brincar corporal na Educação Infantil. O estudo trata inicialmente do brincar, do corpo e a educação e as implicações geradas a partir da compreensão de criança, infância e educação infantil na modernidade. A investigação foi realizada no primeiro semestre de 2010, no município de Ponta Grossa – PR, tendo como campo de pesquisa três (03) Centros Municipais de Educação Infantil (CMEIs), onde os dados foram obtidos a partir dos instrumentos da observação, questionário e entrevista, envolvendo vinte e uma educadoras (21) que atuam nas turmas de creche e pré-escola. Os dados obtidos foram sistematizados de acordo com a Análise de Conteúdo de Laurence Bardin (1977) e analisados a partir da triangulação dos dados (TRIVIÑOS, 2008). A partir dos dados obtidos e analisados, consideramos que o brincar integra a prática pedagógica da Educação Infantil, num contexto de atividade livre e de frágil fundamentação teórica no trabalho do educador, dificultando a articulação do ato de brincar com as demais atividades pedagógicas do cotidiano escolar.
