Based on the assumption that memory does not refer only to the past and that it is a process in constant construction, mediated by different communicative supports, this work focus on the narratives that unfold in contemporary times about the groups of soccer balls of the Rio de Janeiro, a carnival expression commonly associated with 'traditional' and 'popular', but which presents itself in a complex, multiple, social way. It is known that, based on the diverse narratives disseminated about such actors, various mediations are processed that transform the socialities among those who access such content, as well as by the protagonists themselves in this manifestation, understood here as the culture of football. Formed predominantly by men, but not just them, it was necessary, in a first moment, to search in daily journalism the memories narrated about this culture that directly influence the decision making of public administration bodies of the city - the City Hall. Rio - about the parties that take place during the carnival period. Also understanding the body as a means of producing narratives and, in turn, memories, an immersion in the field was carried out as a way of narrating about the experiences among such citizens of the city, which allowed us to observe how they set themselves in motion and empower, as autonomous media, a new management of memory about their own stories. Thus, it is proposed to think this whole narrative outline, over a decade, from the concept of underground memories by Michael Pollak, which allowed us to understand the periods of subterraneization of the memories of such groups, as well as the evident de-subterraneization by means of digital in which the culture of the ball-players of the municipality of Rio de Janeiro is inserted.
