Resumo: This research aimed to analyze the impacts of the spread of Hallyu (the Korean Wave) on the Korean community in the Bom Retiro neighborhood in São Paulo, which houses the largest concentration of Korean immigrants and their descendants in Latin America. Through bibliographic review, field research, and interview analysis, we investigated how Hallyu has transformed both the lives of individuals and local businesses. Previously dominated by textile commerce, the neighborhood has since seen the emergence of establishments dedicated to South Korean culture, such as restaurants, bars, beauty salons, and themed cafés. The research revealed that the Korean Wave has driven significant changes in the commercial profile and cultural identity of the community, with younger generations engaging with South Korean pop culture. This phenomenon has reshaped the commercial dynamics, fostered cultural exchange between the Korean community and other groups, and promoted local alterations and remembrance policies in the neighborhood.

Por meio de revisão bibliográfica, pesquisa de campo e análise de entrevistas, investigamos como a Hallyu transformou tanto a vida das pessoas quanto os comércios locais. Anteriormente dominado pelo comércio têxtil, o bairro passou a abrigar estabelecimentos dedicados à cultura sul-coreana, como restaurantes, bares, salões de beleza e cafés temáticos. A pesquisa revelou que a Onda Coreana tem impulsionado uma mudança significativa no perfil comercial e na identidade cultural da comunidade, com as gerações mais jovens se engajando com a cultura pop sul-coreana.
