The present work sought to address the importance of subjectivity in the process of recognition and affective appropriation of the man in the environment he inhabits, thus attempting to visualize and decode the assets of well-being in the municipality of Alfenas- MG. Thus the proposal for this work is a geographic / affective approach on the patrimony of well-being recognized in the intimate of individuals and social groups. That is, research seeks to bring into the light of the debate how the symbiotic relationship of the individual with a place surrounds him and intrinsically belongs to him, being lived and experienced by people. For man, the topophilic ties reveal a series of inner feelings, these places are part of the individuality of each one and just like men, these places have a symbolic entanglement with them. The places are spaces of intense involvement, triggers of the most diverse feelings, in this sense, this dissertative work has a geographic humanistic focus, having the place in a prominent situation. The theoretical basis for this approach is composed of Geography references, considering equally other contributions of other human sciences, philosophically this dissertation has its focus on phenomenology. Qualitative research was chosen as a methodology of scientific research, opting for this research character allowed a greater connexion with the theoretical framework of Humanistic Geography, current avid for unraveling the multiple meanings constructed by different individuals and social groups from their spatial experience, as well as facilitated the interpretation and interaction with the object of study in question, identifying the values involved in the recognition and appreciation of places of good will contributes to the current discussion about the practices of preservation and valorization of places.
