Resumo: In the present dissertation aimed to the understanding of the concept of Brazilianness, in the way it, as narrative, is articulated by the dynamics of fashion. To this end, the work of fashion designer Alexandre Herchcovitch was analyzed. The perspective adopted in reading and understanding the reality studied was the study of the imaginary and reflections of the body. Under this reading, the representations of fashion designer and stylist as professionals in the fashion field were investigated. The constituent elements of one of the narratives of Brazilianness are presented through the trajectory of the couturier Dener Pamplona de Abreu in the social context of the 1960s. In the stylist Alexandre Herchcovitch work, the concept of Brazilianness is investigated from the perspective of building a body design revealed through the analysis of four of his shows, having as a scene a globalized social atmosphere

Com esse objetivo, foi analisado o trabalho do estilista Alexandre Herchcovitch. A perspectiva adotada na leitura e compreensão da realidade estudada foi a dos estudos do imaginário e as reflexões sobre o corpo. Sob essa leitura, foram investigadas as representações do costureiro e do estilista como profissionais do campo da moda. Os elementos constitutivos de uma suposta brasilidade na moda são apresentados através da narrativa do ser nacional descrita no trabalho do costureiro Dener Pamplona de Abreu no contexto social dos anos 1960.
