Resumo: This research continues to look for evidence regarding the appropriations of the French philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre’s ideas in Brazil. The starting point is the end of the research undertaken during the master's degree, when I investigated the arrival of Sartre's thoughts in the country, between 1945 and 1955. after the frisson of existentialist fashion of the previous period wore out, the goal here is to understand how this philosophy influenced the intellectual environment in the country and how Sartre's proposals were swallowed up and transformed in Brazilian lands. Evidence was researched in the digital collection of the newspaper O Globo between the years 1955 and 1969, based on three keywords: Sartre, existencialismo and existencialista. Other newspapers were consulted as a way of expanding the evidence found on O Globo, but always taking as a guideline the ideas found in this diary. As a result, the research is structured around three main themes: Sartre's assimilation into the Brazilian political scene, pointing to the political uses of the thinker; the reception of Sartre's literary works, emphasizing the presence of evidence of his influences in national literature, as well as the criticism of literary authors Antonio Olinto and Nelson Rodrigues against the philosopher; and, finally, the presentation of films made from scripts or adaptations of Sartre's works and the philosopher's theater in the country, which leads to a perception of, in one hand, how the seventh art was relegated to the background, and on the other, the theater was spread out by various amateur groups distributed locally. The work is developed based on my appropriations of two methodological proposals: the phenomenology as intended by Sartre and the Actor-Network Theory as proposed by Bruno Latour. It is, after all, a second-hand dinner: here we eat the way Sartre was swallowed in the past.

It is, after all, a second-hand dinner: here we eat the way Sartre was swallowed in the past. Submitted by Mariangela CEH/A (marianfig@gmail.com) on 2022-03-23T13:08:17Z No. of bitstreams: 2 Tese - Rodolfo Rodrigues de Souza - 2021 - Completa.pdf: 2113692 bytes, checksum: 29f94b8b2ca0e8cd1757f81c22b75546 (MD5) license_rdf: 0 bytes, checksum: d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2022-03-23T13:08:17Z (GMT).
