The dialogue between the Galician Portuguese lyrics and the ballads sung by the group formed by the composer and folklorist Carlos Farias and the Washer-women from Almenara. Traces from the troubadorism culture remain in our days, even in Brazil, which has not lived the Middle Ages, according to the values of the West European tradition. The musical repertory of the washer-women from Almenara choral as transformation and extension of the collections of songs the medieval troubadour period, because it preserves the mains characteristics of the medieval lyrics: the expression of the feminine feeling. Other similarities between the medieval lyrics and the Washer-women s choral as the predominance of the country environment described in the lyrics, the country/washer women having as confidents the personified elements of the nature, the dialogue structure and the use of refrains in several compositions. The proposals shown in the chapters that form this work concern to notions of the culture, popular or classic, identity questions, as well as the intrinsic relation of the ballads with the cultural memory and tradition. Reading of the Lírica profana galego-portuguesa and the use of CDs/books Batukim brasileiro and Aqua, in an analytic-comparative methodology. Comprehension of the dialogue process between the ballads, ideologies concerning the Middle Ages that still reflect nowadays, the spaces where these ballads are and the integralization in the cultural context. Divided into three chapters, namely: The confluences of the past: the crystallized memory in the troubadouristic ballads; The confluences of the present: the washer-women chant; The rescue of the past in the present: the Middle Ages modernized in the singing of the washer-women, the present work give priority to the continuity among the chapters, as well as the unity among them. The approach of the past, the contextualization of the medieval lyrics, the relationships of them according to History and to the memory and a sub-chapter dedicated to the cult of the Virgin Mary, which dates the Middle Ages. This praise meets resonance in two examples picked from the repertory of Carlos Farias and the washer-women from Almenara. In the chapter dedicated to the confluences of the present, the contextualization of the repertory of the washer-women, the origins of the choral formed by Carlos Farias and its characteristics. The rescue of the past in the present, deals with the confluences between the two productions separated by centuries, but poetically similar in their themes. The dialectic between the past and the present is indicated between the cantiga de amigo song about boyfriend and the ballads of the washer-women in a comparative dialogue which contemplates both temporalities, the old meeting great repercussion in the new. On the convergence of the near elements between the single women who constitute the lyric self of the cantigas de amigo and the voices full of life wisdom of the washer-women, the construction of the cultural repertory formed by medieval traces left by the Portuguese colonizers who inhabited the region.
