The thesis investigates how the technique of camouflage connects us to the territories we inhabit. The topics listed are approached from personal experiences and theoretical readings, with a methodology that relates dissonant voices and does not hierarchize the sources of research. Camouflage is a concept marked by two stereotypes, the military uniform and the chameleon. Inserted in the practices of war and, later, being part of the lexicon that was previously dominated by mimicry in biology, this word is usually used with the sense of going unnoticed in a particular landscape or situation. From there, it expanded to other areas both for its aesthetic appeal and for its meanings. The camouflage was established as a way to reflect on the gesture of the contemporary man, being at the same time an escape from the normative doctrines and also the way of establishing itself in the normativity. It is also used as a way to belong to the territories, propagating the contours beyond the body and establishing their presence in every lived space. The work conceives camouflage as a medium for the perception of works of contemporary art, contributing to art, its works and relations with the public, reflecting on its reverberations in connecting territories. Through the pieces, a narrative is developed that explores the relation of the subject with the space inhabited by the camouflage, in search of a stage of indifferentiation. This allows us to activate the feelings of belonging by linking us to the common element that resides in all. Each work performed and selected for the thesis brings a dimension of camouflage, and the set of works points its reach to contemporary art
