Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are one of the most common public health problems in the world. Despite its gravity, the subject is addressed in textbooks in a succinct and superficial way, ignoring the school’s hole as an important knowledge disseminator and learning facilitator. Information about STIs is in all media vehicles, however, they are poorly endorsed by young people, who fail to turn it into action. The presentation of misconcepts about the prevention of these enfermeties still occurs, aggravating its incidence. In this context, an alternative to improve the propagation of this subject among students is using comics. So, this work aims to analise and to demontrate that using comics about STIs in virtual medias is an efficient tool of dissemination of knowlodge about this theme among students. There were sellected the infeccions most commonly mentionated by students in a school in Itaguaí/RJ and by the press, resulting in a total of 7 STIs. The comics were criated using the free website Toodoo, which avails scenaries and characters, presening an easy creating interface. The stories were narreted in 3 volums, ambientated in day-by-day situations for young people, and they bring up important information about prevention, identification and treatment of STIs. The proposal has also an investigative approach, enableing searchs for more information through hiperlinks to official pages about STIs. To make the comics available to be seen a website was created and its divulgation in schools is made by posters which admit the imediate visualization of the page through a QRcode. Besides that, the comics books had been presented during classes and also had been exhibited to teachers, licensees to be and students to evaluate it. The material had good acceptance among them, interesting curiosities were enlightened by teachers and some of them even related that would use the comics produced for this paper as complementar material in their biology classes. A guide was created to make easier teaching about STIs, so others teachers can use the comics as well and it also proposes that the students make others comics by themselves. Thereby, the expectancy is that, especially in schools, the comics contribute to a better approach to the STIs theme, estimulating curiosity, debate and deepening into a scientific knowlodge. As an aftereffect, hopefully, we will see atitudes changing and a trully efective prevention, able to minimize negative consequences in young’s and in society's life, will be done.
