Resumo: The concept of bioeconomy includes technological applications which make use of living organisms and biological systems to produce, alter processes or products aiming specific end. Bioeconomy is directed related to innovation once it transforms knowledge into technologies which present solutions to the principal challenges of populations, such as: minimizing dependence on fóssil raw material, scarcity of drinking water, climatic changes, reductions in emission of green house effect gases, food safety, production of renewable resources and reduction of environmental global impact. The main objective of this research is to propose an integrated and collaborative process, which contribute to the development of bioeconomy in Rio de Janeiro State, through innovative projects that involve several areas of knowledge. According to the methodological taxonomy proposed by Vergara (2004), concerning the final purposes, there search is descriptive and exploratory. Descriptive, as it presents a detailed analysis and characteristics of the methodological process of cooperation; and exploratory, as it is carried out in an area in which there is very little accumulated and systematized knowledge. As for the means, the research is bibliographical and document oriented. Bibliographical, as a literature review was carried out on the following topics: bioeconomy, innovation and the environment. Documentary research included the analysis of primary and secondary sources, such as databases and research reports. In conclusion, it was possible to verify that there was a 100% increase in strategic partnerships maintained between educational and research institutions, companies and the public authorities. Besides, the Sic Bio methodology provided validated results mainly in generating indicators of technology-based companies focused on bioeconomy, with a 44% growth in formalized businesses and 108% in sales. Thus, it contributes to improving the current conditions of cooperation for the development of the bioeconomy in the state of Rio de Janeiro

A bioeconomia está diretamente relacionada à inovação por transformar o conhecimento em tecnologias que apresentem soluções para os principais desafios da população, tais como: minimização da dependência de matéria-prima fóssil, escassez de água potável, mudanças climáticas, redução de emissão de gases de efeito estufa, segurança alimentar, produção de fontes renováveis de recursos e redução do impacto ambiental. O objetivo principal dessa pesquisa é propor um processo integrado e colaborativo, que contribua para o desenvolvimento da bioeconomia no estado do Rio de Janeiro, por meio de projetos inovadores que envolvem várias áreas do conhecimento. Conforme a taxonomia metodológica proposta por Vergara (2004), quanto aos fins a pesquisa é descritiva e exploratória. Descritiva, pois apresenta uma análise minuciosa e as características do processo metodológico de cooperação; e exploratória, pois é realizada em uma área na qual há pouquíssimo conhecimento acumulado e sistematizado. Quanto aos meios, a pesquisa é bibliográfica e documental. Bibliográfica, pois foi feita uma revisão da literatura que versa sobre os seguintes temas: bioeconomia, inovação e meio ambiente. A pesquisa documental compreendeu a análise de fontes primárias e fontes secundárias, como bases de dados e relatórios de pesquisas. Concluindo, foi possível constatar que houve 100% de aumento de parcerias estratégicas mantidas entre instituições de ensino e pesquisa, empresas e poder público. Além disso, a metodologia Sic Bio proporcionou resultados validados principalmente nos indicadores de geração de empresas de base tecnológica com foco em bioeconomia, apresentando crescimento de 44% de negócios formalizados e 108% com faturamento.
