Pregnancy is a period marked by physical and emotional changes and it is a time when women should receive humanized and comprehensive care. However, the oral health of pregnant women is sometimes neglected. Dental prenatal care is the time when the dental surgeon observes the pregnant woman's oral health status to avoid the aggravation of already installed problems and to prevent other oral diseases, in addition to performing procedures that aim to contribute to the health of the pregnant woman and her baby. Therefore, dental care should be integrated into different levels of care, based on actions: educational, preventive and curative. The line of care implies comprehensive care and one of the ways to obtain it is through technological resources. The use of mobile devices and communication technologies in health and public health is a rapidly expanding area of research and practice. Although there is a large number of proposals for prenatal applications, in which the great focus is on the evolution and formation of the baby, the number of specific proposals to promote oral care and demystify concepts related to dental treatment in the gestational period. The objective of this work was to develop MaternaPrO®, a mobile application as a motivational resource, capable of sensitizing pregnant women about the importance of oral health and increasing adherence to clinical treatment and preventive dental procedures. The project was developed based on the following methodology: bibliographic data survey, preparation and publication of an article in Minireview format, software development and subsequent application registration. It is expected that the application will contribute to a continuous performance in the oral health education of pregnant women, especially users of the public health service, producing motivating actions through its simple and direct language. The concept and the digital tool will be able to promote health education in an innovative, playful and accessible way, enhancing the access and adherence of pregnant users to prenatal dental care.
