This thesis seeks to analyze whether artificial intelligence is a technological revolution, with the potential to massively eliminate jobs. Concluding that, despite the evolution of AI represents a risk of extinction for a certain number of professions, this will not mean a future without a job, the research will analyze which public policies are necessary to avoid a significant increase in the level of unemployment, both due to the disappearance of certain professions and the lack of qualification of the workforce to insert it in an environment in which AI is increasingly present. Artificial intelligence strategies from six emerging economies – Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Australia, India, Mexico and Turkey – will support the proposed research, as well as the measures envisaged in the Brazilian Artificial Intelligence Strategy. Likewise, the construction of the text of art. 7, item XXVII, of the Federal Constitution¸ past and present legislative attempts to regulate it, the laws in Brazil that deal with automation and the legislative proposals to regulate AI in Brazil will be addressed, aiming to answer the following question: does Brazil need a legislative framework of its own that protects work from AI-driven automation? Concluding that the answer to the question is positive, the research will seek to offer guidelines for the formulation of a legislative proposal.
