Resumo: The main objective of this work is to explain the relationship between the aesthetic and the political, investigating the affinities between taste and Enlightenment based on the philos-ophies of Kant and Schiller. To accomplish this task, this academic production is divided into three stages. The first of them aims to present the context that allowed the debate on Aufklärung in Germany in the 18th century, explaining the characteristics and the foundations of the Enlightenment according to Kantian philosophy. In the second, it is intended to charac-terize the judgment of taste according to Kant, the problem of its claim to universal validity and its relation to clarification. In the final moment, he explains to what extent the culture of taste contributes to the clarification, reconstructing the Schillerian arguments in favor of this project. Based on Kantian philosophy, it is based mainly on reading and interpreting the works. Answer to the question: What is Enlightenment? and Critique of the judgment; Schil-ler's philosophical production highlights the interpretation of the Letters to the Prince of Au-gustenburg and the On the Aesthetic Education of Man, in a Series of Letters.

Esta tarefa é realizada em três momentos. O primeiro deles tem por meta apresentar o contexto que permitiu a realização do debate sobre a Aufklärung na Alemanha no século XVIII, explicitando as características e os fundamentos do Esclarecimento segundo a filosofia kantiana. No segundo, intenta-se caracterizar o juízo de gosto segundo Kant, o problema de sua pretensão de validade universal e de sua relação com o esclarecimento. No momento final, discute-se em que medida a cultura do gosto contribui para o esclarecimento, analisando-se os argumentos schillerianos em favor desse projeto. O trabalho se assenta especialmente na leitura e interpretação do artigo de Kant “Resposta à pergunta: o que é Esclarecimento?” (1784) e da Crítica da faculdade de julgar (1790), assim como da correspondência entre Schiller e o Príncipe de Augustenburg em 1793 e de sua versão final, Sobre a educação estética do homem.
