Percorrendo escolas, examinando o bom e o mau resultado : a inspeção escolar na Corte Imperial (1863 a 1872)

The founding objetive of this research invested in analyzing the apparatus of inspection of education practices by the imperial governanment denominated Inspetoria Geral de Instrução Publica Primária e Secundária da Corte, highlighting the period 1863-1872, presenting its structure and organization. The research counted on a varied set of investigative sources such as reposts of the minister of the impirie, reports, offices, letters, printed matter, registration maps, among other documents of relevance for the investigation. Such sources demonstrate vestiges of this organ, as will as its organization, structure, subjects and the actions involved. Emphasis given to the regulation of 1854, which describes the actions of this body, guinding its work and structure of action before teachers, students and schools. We analyze, interpersonal relations between the control subjects and the teachers of the various parishes of the cort, as a relation of tension between the action of the executive power and the exercise of the function of the magisterium with interferences in the development of methods, practices of the Inspetoria and the pedagogical conduct determined by the Conferencias Pedagógicas directed by the inspector general of instruction. In addition, we propose a look at the action of supervising teaching in other counthies, such as Argentina, Portugal and United States, in order to highlight similarities and differences in the constitutio of the inspection gear
