Julia Bertino MoreiraDissertação (Mestrado) - Universidade Federal do ABC, Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ciências Humanas e Sociais, São Bernardo do Campo, 2020.Este trabalho tem como objeto de pesquisa as mulheres que voluntariamente migram de um país para outro e sua análise está fundamentada na abordagem de Amartya Sem sobre o desenvolvimento humano e, principalmente, do conceito de liberdade de agência. Então, questiona-se em que medida o desenvolvimento humano é potencializado pela liberdade e pela capacidade das mulheres em migrar e é possibilitada a expansão de suas capacidades através da migração. Esta pesquisa também se embasa nos estudos migratórios que observam como o gênero condiciona a vida das mulheres diferentemente dos homens em razão das hierarquias, relações e papéis sociais existentes. Assim como, por se tratar de migrações internacionais, também são discutidas questões relacionadas à nacionalidade, raça, classe social e como se interseccionam. A partir dessas referências teóricas e conceituais, discutem se dois casos de migrações de mulheres e por meio da metodologia do estudo de casos com uma análise comparativa, são destacadas as peculiaridades de cada experiência migratória e se demonstram os avanços e entraves ao desenvolvimento humano das migrantes.The object of this work is the women who voluntarily migrate from one country to another. The analysis is based on the approach of Amartya Sen on human development and mainly on the concept of freedom of agency. So, it is discussed to what extent human development is enhanced by the freedom and capacity of women to migrate, and about the possibility of enlarging their capabilities through migration. This research is in accordance with migratory studies that observe how gender conditions the lives of women in a different way from men due to the existing hierarchies, relationships and social roles. As well, as they are international migrations, issues related to nationality, race, social class and how they intersect are also discussed.
