The study aims to analyze how the use of sustainable practices in a construction company generates pro-environmental behavioral change in the workers' private lives. Data collection was carried out through five focus groups (two with administrative staff, from the central office and the construction site and three with workers from two different works), direct observation (non-participatory) in the residence of employees who presented a greater number of categories found in their speeches, semi-structured interview, and documentary. For data analysis, qualitative content analysis was used. The results pointed to the presence of a strong sustainable organizational culture within the construction company, through the adoption of sustainable practices, a constant investment policy in innovative ways of reducing environmental impacts generated by civil construction and the support from senior management. There was also an understanding of the concepts related to sustainability and the identification of practices that occur in the work environment and in workers' homes. In this way, the perception of the contributions and the role of the construction company in behavioral change, through the spillover effect, had been identified. We conclude the existence of spillover with a focus on home work with greater intensity in employees working in the operational area than for those working in the administrative area, however the experience of one domain affecting the expectations of the other domain was strongly verified, evidencing the behavioral change of employees in their private lives, identified in loco, through the registration of field diaries, which instigates new research for possible behavioral explanations, in the employees' private life, since the spillover effects, both among behaviors such as between environments are poorly researched and need more understanding, as this would help to promote sustainable lifestyles within and outside the realms of people's lives.
