Resumo: | Agriculture is a sector of fundamental importance in the Brazilian economy, with a significant share in the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP). However, as it is an activity carried out in a natural environment, there are numerous adverse factors that can hinder its full development, causing a drop in productivity and financial losses. In this scenario, rural insurance emerges as a significant public policy aimed at reducing the risks of agricultural activities, through financial compensation in the event of claims. This study analyzes the Rural Insurance Premium Subsidy Program (PSR), which enables the contracting of policies to insure rural producers. The objective of this study is to verify the relationship between the federal subsidy granted by the PSR and the productivity of second-crop corn in Paraná in 2024. To achieve this objective, a quantile regression was performed applied to public data made available by the Rural Insurance Atlas. The results showed that the cultivated area and the federal subsidy are the factors most strongly associated with the increase in corn productivity. This suggests that policies to encourage planting and financial support to producers are effective strategies to increase production. |

No entanto, por ser uma atividade realizada em meio natural, existem inúmeros fatores adversos que podem prejudicar o seu pleno desenvolvimento, causando queda da produtividade e perdas financeiras. Nesse cenário, o seguro rural surge como uma política pública significativa, ao objetivar a redução dos riscos das atividades agrícolas, por intermédio da reparação financeira em caso de sinistros. O presente estudo analisa o Programa de Subvenção ao Prêmio do Seguro Rural (PSR), que viabiliza a contratação de apólices para assegurar os produtores rurais. O objetivo deste estudo é verificar a relação entre a subvenção federal concedida pelo PSR e a produtividade de milho 2ª safra no Paraná em 2024. Para cumprir esse objetivo, foi realizada uma regressão quantílica aplicada aos dados públicos disponibilizados pelo Atlas do Seguro Rural. Os resultados mostraram que a área cultivada e a subvenção federal são os fatores mais fortemente associados ao aumento da produtividade do milho.
