The research object of this work is the project "Alliance with the adollescent for the Sustainable Development at the Microregion of the Mid Jaguaribe, Ceará" (PAA). The listened "persons" are the young formed by the project in the communication training course. Our main objective is to analyze if the young communicators feel themselves capable to reedit the ideas of PAA, using the knowledge acquired in communitarian journalism. To reach the objective, we utilized as methodology the participant observation, bibliographical and documental research, analyses of project's institutional journals, open interviews and focal groups. These were the main instruments of our investigation, which aims to contribute to the debate about the role of communication as an end, not a way of empowerment. The research identified that the young feel capable of reedit the ideas of the project in their daily activities but not through the use of communication techniques. For this, they emphasize that a continued work of formation of young communicators, besides the support to their insertion in local communication vehicles is necessary.
