Resumo: The infection for the HIV/AIDS configures a public heath problem and has brought complex matters and prejudices. The counselling is a theorical and methodological strategy will give support to the professionals to work problems. The counselling is a moment that the professional could be help for the person to underestand and to perform the reality. In this case, the study has an objective to investigate the strategies used by in health professionals to do the counselling. These study is a qualitative research, inspered in Freire's theory. We used the content analysis of Bardin to work with the records. To the group, the counselling is divided at the three moments: to think the counselling, to do the counselling and to feel the couselling. The focus of the counsellig is the inforrmation, the main dificulties are the institution na the clients, and the facility is the team, that have a good relationship. The counsellig is a special moment, but doen't in educational activity. We suggest a methodology in counsellig, using the Freire's concepts.

O aconselhamento é um estratégia teórica e metodológica que vai dar suporte ao profissional para lidar com a complexidade implicada no panorama da infecção e da doença. Entendemos o aconselhamento como um momento em que o aconselhador poderá potencializar o sujeito para a interpretação de sua realidade, como também ter autonomia para realizar suas escolhas, isto é, um momento educativo na perspectiva de Paulo Freire. Neste contexto, este estudo teve como objetivo investigar as estratégias utilizadas pêlos profissionais de saúde no aconselhamento em HIV/AIDS. Trata-se de uma pesquisa com característica qualitativa, inspirada na teoria e prática de Paulo Freire. Como técnica de análise, utilizamos a análise de conteúdo de Bardin. Para o grupo estudado, o aconselhamento está divido em três momentos: Pensar o aconselhamento, Fazer o aconselhamento e Sentir o aconselhamento. O aconselhamento ainda está centrado na cognição, mesmo que já se vislumbrem outros conceitos que permeiam este momento. As principais dificuldades do aconselhamento ocorrem em relação aos clientes e à instituição. As principais facilidades estão vinculadas à equipe que, segundo o grupo, tem bom relacionamento. Representa um momento de sofrimento, principalmente para o aconselhador por trazer à tona densas questões existenciais. Podemos inferir por meio deste estudo que o aconselhamento é um momento especial, entretanto não se configura ainda como um momento educativo.
