Resumo: The object of study of this dissertation is the fuel trade in the city Fortaleza, with an emphasis on C gasoline, ethanol and diesel. The work consists in the study of the fuel market since the 70's to the present day, analyzing the economic impacts of this sector in the economy. Despite the large number of gas stations, this economic niche presents significant price differences between them, within the same geographical area. For empirical analysis we use panel data methodology. From the results we analysis the determining factor in pricing in Gas stations, be it the location, the flag or the volume of sales.

O trabalho consiste no estudo do mercado de combustíveis desde a década de 70, até os dias atuais, analisando os impactos econômicos deste setor na economia do país. Apesar do grande número de postos de combustíveis, este nicho econômico apresenta significantes diferenças de preços entre eles, dentro de uma mesma área geográfica. Para análise empírica utilizamos a metodologia dados de painel.
