Resumo: | This research into visual poetics and gender seeks to contribute to studies related to the processes of creation in textile art and contemporary movements to deromanticize motherhood, addressing the intersection of this experience in the female body. Awake to Concentration Area 2, Art and Creation Process: Contemporary Poetics, from the Postgraduate Program in Arts (ICA, UFC), we propose a conceptual theorization about embroidery, and the creation of a photographic series artistic work named Subversive Lines in Maternity, which combine personal experiences linked to motherhood and feminist theoretical investigations (Scavone, 2001; Cusicanqui, 2010; Badinter, 1985), using embroidery as a language for creation. In methodological terms, the research is based on the idea of Genetic Criticism proposed by Cecília Salles (2008), which allows us to examine subjective artistic production and theoretical references as elements that intertwine and influence each other, contributing to critical reflections and a deeper understanding of the work created and the creation process. As a result of the research, we linked photography to the first-person narrative of the paths taken inherent to the creation of embroidered works, as a means of affective articulation and reappropriation of the social and political space of motherhood. |
