Resumo: The use of tractors in agriculture is a key element in increasing productivity and quality of this production, as it is able to perform operations in less time, more efficiently and decrease production costs. Several tests have been carried out on different models of tractors and in various conditions of use, as a way to know the reality of the current machines in terms of vibration to plan the best strategy to combat the problem. The objective of the study was to evaluate the use of different seat cushions to attenuate whole-body vibration (WBV) in agricultural tractors. The experiment was conducted in an experimental area belonging to the Agricultural Machinery Accidents Research Laboratory of the Federal University of Ceará. The experimental design was completely randomized with nine attenuating materials (water cushions, inflatable square shaped, inflatable egg carton format, wood balls, viscoelastic foam, polystyrene microbeads, expanded polyurethane, gel and latex) and no attenuation (control treatment) at three displacement speeds, being: 3.5 km.h-1 , 6.1 km.h-1 and 11.8 km.h-1 . Plots with 4 min readings were taken and a sample was collected every 10 seconds, totaling 24 samples collected for each replicate, and 5 replicates were performed for each treatment. Statistical analysis of the data was performed using ASSISTAT statistical software. To verify the normality of the data, they were submitted to the Anderson-Darling test. After the normality of the obtained data was verified, they were submitted to analysis of variance by the F test, and when significant, the averages were compared by the Tukey test, at 5% significance. In the evaluated conditions the viscoelastic foam was the material that presented better attenuation of the values of resulting vibration dose (VDVR) and exposure action value (EAV) between the materials used. Although several materials proved to be good attenuators in relation to the seat, at the speed of 11.8 km.h-1 all the evaluated treatments presented values of VDVR and EAV above the exposure limit, which characterizes the working condition, even with the use of materials, as unhealthy
