Resumo: The theme of this study refers to the activy of sexuality renal cronic human being. This is a discriptive study which follow the qualitative and phenomenological aproach. Through the declaration of these patients, guided by: “WHAT IS SEXUALITY FOR YOU, AND HOW DO YOU LIVE ST?” From the statement, we traced a general structure of the phenomenon, through ideographic and nomotetic analysis, it let us understand the meaning of sexuality, for chronic human being. According to the statement, sexuality is sex, a human necessity, a way of expressing that. Sexuality is important in life and that their sexuality was altered with renal disease and then, they developed feelings like: sedness, fear, suffering and hope. Little importance was given to this refered subject and patients presented sugestions to this. The understanding makes posible the creation of a future under holistic point of view.

Trata-se de um estudo descritivo segundo a linha qualitativa com a abordagem fenomenológica. Para tanto buscou-se o depoimento desses pacientes, tendo como questão norteadora: “O QUE É SEXUALIDADE PARA VOCÊ E COMO VOCÊ A VIVÊNCIA? À partir dos depoimentos, construiu-se a estrutura geral do fenômeno, procedendo as análises ideográficas e nomotética, conduzindo-se em busca da compreensão do significado da sexualidade para o ser renal crônico. À luz de seus depoimentos desvelou-se que a sexualidade é: o sexo, uma necessidade humana, um modo de expressão, que sexo é importante na vida e, que a sexualidade deles foi alterada com a doença renal, emergindo sentimentos de tristeza, medo, sofrimento, esperança. Também desvelou-se a pouca importância que é dirigida a essa temática e deram sugestões.
