This study aimed to systematize a set of theoretical foundations and technical-methodological procedures of an interdisciplinary nature, based on practical community experience, which initiated the process inherent to the elaboration of social maps in the Monguba and Olho D'água Indigenous villages, representing a diagnosis of conflicts socio-environmental issues and community proposals to solve the problems encountered. Regarding the theoretical framework, the research was based on the studies of Acselrad, (2008); Almeida, (2008); Chapin, (2005); Popayan, (2005); Carvalho, (2014), Rodriguez and Silva (2016) among others. As a methodological contribution, Social Cartography is based on research-action- participation, in this case also considering the concepts of territory and landscape. The social mapping will consist of eight workshops, namely i) general assembly; ii) participatory diagnosis; iii) web of problems; iv) potentialities; v) proposed zoning vi) adjustment of maps vii) validation of maps. The maps elaborated were intended to provide the word to the community through a change in the appropriation, production and use of cartography. Based on the actions carried out, a participatory diagnosis was carried out demonstrating the cultural and environmental characteristics of the community; the traditional territory was cartographically represented, through Social Cartography methodologies, paying attention to relevant elements and aspects of the community, and provided, through the use of geotechnologies, subsidies for the Monguba and Olho D'água indigenous villages located in Ceará, can practice territorial management following the precepts of environmental sustainability.
