Resumo: Presents the process which the catholic’s education field constituted itself in the Cariri’s region. Recovers the role of many social actors who participated of the constitution of this field. Uses like research sources written documents, that “go from” works of memories, books of reunions to personal letters. Concludes that in the Cariri cearense the constitution of the educational field was resulted of confrontations of diverse actors, that when comprehended their catholic way in different ways, played with the intent of reproduce their experience through educational practices, both formal and informal.

Resgata o papel de diversos atores sociais que participaram da constituição deste campo. Utiliza como fontes de pesquisa documentos escritos, que vão desde trabalhos de memória, livros de atas até cartas pessoais.
