Resumo: The present work is intended to analyze the impacts of the APAC methodology on the lives of women incarcerated in Association for the Protection and Assistance of Convicts (APAC) on the lives of women incarcerated in the APAC womanly of Viana-MA. Through triangulated ethnographic research - analysis of applied questionnaires, report captured in a self-recorded diary of one of the inmates and direct observations of the researcher during her visits and conversations at the Unit - we intend to initiate a necessary interlocution about the Brazilian prison system and the urgent need to implement effective public policies for resocialization, through the implementation of a prison system that is very different from the current model of hygienist segregation present in prisons in our country. Sixteen inmates of the chosen APAC were interviewed. In addition, one of these was asked to record in a journal. Data were analyzed descriptively and theoretically. We found that, in the case studied, the incarcerated women are mostly black, with little education and answer/were convicted of drug trafficking. For the significant majority of these women, APAC is a welcoming space, respect for basic human rights and incarceration offers an experience that provides opportunities for resocialization through education and professionalization.

Através de pesquisa etnográfica triangulada - análise dos questionários aplicados, relato capturado em autorregistro de diário de uma das reeducandas e observações direta da pesquisadora durante suas visitas e realizações de rodas de conversas na Unidade - pretendemos iniciar uma necessária interlocução sobre o sistema carcerário brasileiro e a urgente necessidade de tencionar políticas públicas eficazes de ressocialização, através da implantação de um sistema carcerário bem distinto do atual modelo de segregação higienista presente nos presídios do nosso país. Foram entrevistadas 16 internas da APAC escolhida. Além disso, foi solicitado o registro em diário a uma destas. Os dados foram analisados descritiva e teoricamente. Constatamos que, no caso estudado, as mulheres encarceradas são, em sua maioria, negras, com pouca escolaridade e respondem/foram condenadas por tráfico de drogas.
