Resumo: This dissertation proposes a reading of Orides Fontela's poetic work in relation to the concept of time and temporalities. To this end, we have chosen poems selected from her five published books, Transposição (1969), Helianto (1973), Alba (1983), Rosácea (1986) and Teia (1996). In this investigation, we will conduct analyses focused on the theme of time, encompassing the multiplicity of meanings that the word acquires in Orides' poetry, due to its philosophical, social and mythological influence. The main objective is to investigate the construction of multiple dimensions of the concept of the category of time in Orides' poetic work, in order to also understand the relationship between the meaning of time and the construction of the poetic word. To this end, one of the specific objectives is to select and analyze poems that contain the word time or other recurring symbols in Orides' poetry, such as instant, moment, flow, cycle, memory and kairós. We seek, from this analysis, the possible meanings that time acquires, focusing mainly on understanding how Orides works with time from mythological and religious concepts such as Kairós, and the notion of the present time as an instant. To this end, we will present readings of authors such as Norbert Elias, Gaston Bachelard, Octavio Paz and Merleau-Ponty.
