Resumo: Although there is a significant amount of research on Local History, there is a lack of studies on Itapipoca, especially regarding the pre-colonial period and the Museum of Prehistory of Itapipoca (MUPHI). The aim of this research is to investigate the didactic potential of MUPHI’s collection for teaching local history at the high school level. The research problem revolves around exploring the museum’s potential as an educational resource by using its collection as a historical source in high school classrooms. Our guiding questions are: How has the history of Itapipoca’s Autochthonous Period been addressed in classrooms, and how can it be further incorporated? How can Local History be taught using MUPHI’s collection in schools? How can heritage and Local History be dialectically connected in history teaching between the classroom and the museum? The research was conducted in several stages. First, interviews were held with key individuals related to MUPHI, along with surveys distributed to teachers from all public and private schools in Itapipoca. The next step involved applying a questionnaire to students from two second-year high school classes, being one of a public school and another from a private institution. Following this, a workshop-style lesson was designed and implemented, after which a questionnaire was given to the 12 participating students to assess the impact of the didactic intervention on their historical learning. The conclusions indicate that students experienced a deepening of their historical understanding of Local History, as well as a deconstruction of Eurocentric perspectives. This study provides a practical approach to teaching local history in Itapipoca and offers an educational resource in the form of a Digital Book. This book contains a summary of Itapipoca’s pre-colonial history and a workshop proposal with active methodologies and activities, which can be used in the classroom.

O objetivo desta pesquisa é investigar a potencialidade didática do acervo do MUPHI para o ensino de história local no nível médio. A problemática desta pesquisa parte de investigar a potencialidade didática do Museu de Pré-História de Itapipoca através do uso do seu acervo como fonte histórica em sala de aula de nível médio. Nossa questão é: Como a história do Período Autóctone de Itapipoca está e poderá ser abordada em sala de aula? Como é possível ensinar História Local utilizando o acervo do MUPHI na escola? Como o patrimônio e a História Local podem se relacionar dialeticamente no ensino de história entre sala de aula e museu? A pesquisa foi realizada em várias etapas. No primeiro momento foram feitas entrevistas com pessoas estratégicas relacionadas ao MUPHI, além de questionários aos docentes de todas as escolas públicas e privadas de Itapipoca. O próximo passo, consistiu na aplicação de questionário direcionado aos estudantes de duas turmas da 2ª série de uma escola pública e de uma escola particular. Elaborou-se e foi aplicada, então, uma aula-oficina, e, em seguida, aplicou-se um questionário para os 12 alunos participantes, a fim de avaliar o impacto da intervenção didática na aprendizagem (histórica) dos estudantes. As conclusões indicam que houve um aprofundamento da aprendizagem histórica dos estudantes sobre a História Local, também foi observada uma desmistificação da compreensão eurocêntrica.
