This work addresses the architecture of SARAH Network hospitals, notable for their innovation and emphasis on pre-molded solutions, natural ventilation and lighting. The study focuses on buildings, especially exploring the SARAH Hospital in Fortaleza (2001), analyzing architectural aspects, such as its physical structure and possible changes that occurred in relation to the original project throughout the period of operation, which began in September 2001. The research covers a succinct analysis of all hospitals in the network, to deal with the case of Fortaleza Hospital with greater emphasis. The time frame from 1976 to 2009 covers little more than three decades of the career of João Filgueiras Lima (Lelé), a period that covers his fundamental role in the creation and development of the SARAH Kubitschek Network of hospitals in Brazil. The relevance of the research lies in studying and understanding the architectural solutions of hospitals and the important contribution of the architect. The work contributes to filling gaps in research between the inauguration of Hospital SARAH-Fortaleza and the current state of the building, addressing modernizations that occurred over the years of operation. The objective is to analyze the architectural solutions developed by João Filgueiras Lima and his team, adapted for each Brazilian state, focusing on the Fortaleza unit, identifying its evolution and modifications made, investigating the design solutions, the physical changes in the facilities, the updates in technology and equipment, the expansion of services and specialties, sustainability and efficiency measures, challenges faced and overcome, as well as exploring the hospital's future plans. In the research, a technical collection was used, including photographs and architectural projects. The study aims to provide an integrated view of the institution's development and its contributions to the health and well-being of the community. Expected results include an in-depth understanding of architectural solutions in SARAH Network hospitals and the production of updated documentation of SARAH-Fortaleza healthcare equipment. The methodology applied is of a qualitative, explanatory nature, including bibliographical and documentary research, interviews and field research, focusing on case study analysis of the historical-architectural trajectory. The theoretical analysis considers the development of hospital architecture, highlighting its constant adaptation to technological, regulatory and user demands. The practical assumptions involve field observations at Hospital SARAH-Fortaleza and provide an understanding of the adaptations made and their impacts. The justification for this work lies in the need to rethink healthcare architecture, considering the future and learning from past experiences. João Filgueiras Lima's legacy is a valuable source to inspire more comfortable, friendly, flexible and accessible healthcare environments, highlighting the relevance of architecture in this context, which can contribute to the creation of physical solutions that optimize resources
