It is assumed that in the heterogeneity of philosophical and dramaturgical discourses it is possible to identify marks of a discourse influenced by gender. To understand the Gender issue, we need to understand how it is shaped from the earliest days of ancient Greece to the present day. The study aimed to analyze how the Gender issue influenced the construction of ancient Greek literary works and identify how female characters are represented in the Athenian theater. The study is justified by the fact that it deals with a theme that reflects the role of women in the society of the classical Greek period. However, it reinforces the idea of women fighting for what they believe. It is a bibliographical, descriptive and explanatory research, following the procedures of Comparative Literature. We deal with the gender issue from the gender studies of Judith Butler and Joan Scott. We then explain how the notion of Gender was viewed in the Greek Classical period. Then we look at how Aristotle presented his conception of genre and finally look at how genre was treated in Greek literary texts. We investigated the female characters that appear in the play: Electra, Chrysothemis, Clytemnestra and the choir. In addition, our research is guided by the works produced by scholars such as Julia Kristeva, Harold Bloom, Chimamanda Adichie and classic authors such as Aristotle, Aristophanes, Aeschylus, Euripides, Homer and Gorgias. Our theoretical framework defends the view that gender can establish links with racial, classist, ethnic, sexual and regional categories of identity that are constituted through discourse (BUTLER, 2017). We understand that the study of discourse is necessary, as it analyzes the interrelationship between discourses, which are linked to the socio-historical-cultural context of their production. In fact, the discourse is inseparable from all political issues (FOUCAULT, 2013). Power is what will help the discourse to be constructed and cannot be detached from it. Hence, the importance of investigating how female discourse in tragedy helps to identify gender construction.O presente trabalho propõe-se a fazer uma análise da representação das mulheres gregas com foco principal na personagem Electra. Parte-se da hipótese de que na heterogeneidade dos discursos filosófico e dramatúrgico seja possível identificar marcas de um discurso influenciado pelo gênero. Para se entender a Questão de Gênero, é necessário entendermos como ela se configura desde os primórdios da Grécia Antiga até os dias atuais. O estudo objetiva analisar como a Questão de Gênero influencia a construção das obras literárias gregas antigas e identificar como as personagens femininas estão representadas no teatro ateniense. A pesquisa justifica-se pelo fato de tratar de um tema que reflete o papel da mulher na sociedade do período clássico grego. Entretanto, reforça a ideia da mulher que luta por aquilo que acredita. Trata-se de uma pesquisa bibliográfica, descritiva e explicativa, seguindo os procedimentos da Literatura Comparada. Tratamos sobre a questão de gênero a partir dos estudos de gênero de Judith Butler e Joan Scott. Em seguida, explanamos como a noção de Gênero era vista no período Clássico grego. Depois analisamos como Aristóteles apresentava a sua concepção de gênero e finalmente verificamos como o gênero era tratado em textos literários gregos. Investigamos as personagens femininas que aparecem na peça: Electra, Crisótemis, Clitemnestra e o coro. Ademais, norteiam nossa pesquisa as obras produzidas por estudiosos como Júlia Kristeva, Harold Bloom, Chimamanda Adichie e autores clássicos como Aristóteles, Aristófanes, Ésquilo, Eurípedes, Homero e Górgias. Nosso arcabouço teórico defende o ponto de vista de que o gênero pode estabelecer ligações com categorias raciais, classistas, étnicas, sexuais e regionais de identidade que são constituídas através do discurso (BUTLER, 2017). Entendemos que é imprescindível o estudo do discurso, pois ele analisa a inter-relação entre os discursos, sendo que estes estão vinculados ao contexto sócio-histórico-cultural de sua produção. De fato, o discurso é inseparável de todas as questões políticas (FOUCAULT, 2013). O poder é o que vai ajudar o discurso a ser construído, não podendo ser desvinculado dele.
