The human papilomavims - HPV is a sexually ti-ansmissible disease and its incidence is very high m young women whose damage is associated with the oncogenic lesions on the women genital organs. The objective of this study was to know the beliefs and cultural values which influence the facing to HPV of the infected women. It was used the theoretical framework of the Leninger's Theory of Care Cultural Diversity and Universality as well as the ethnonursing for the development of the stidy. The data were collected by using the observation and participation methods through ethnographic intei'views at domicile and hospital environment involvmg eight women as infoi-mants. The data were analysed according to Leminger phases for analyses of quantitative data of etimonursing categorized and grouped into 6 categories from where emerged the Theme: "Vai sobrar pra mim". This theme came out from the real understanding of the situation and recognition of the HPV infected women which have to face the disease and its consequences. These data were also analysed according to Sunrise Model from Leininger, which perceived the world influence and its social and cultural dimension m the context described by the informant women. Thus, it was observed that the beliefs and cultural values influence the facing of this disease and the adequate health care. The knowledgement of these cultural factors and the way that they influence the HPV disease are important for the nursing team to plan the actions for an adequate health care.
