Resumo: This thesis presents a novel methodology for optimizing patch antenna designs for both ISM (industrial, scientific, and medical) and 5G frequency bands, based on the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm. Traditional design methods rely on equations to approximate antenna dimensions based on target frequencies, often requiring iterative adjustments to achieve desired performance specifications. This research demonstrates that by employing PSO to estimate geometric parameters, the time-consuming fine-tuning process can be significantly reduced. The proposed approach is validated through the design of patch antennas for both ISM and 5G bands. Results indicate substantial improvements in return loss and size reduction, achieving a 25% decrease in antenna size for ISM applications and a 12% reduction for 5G designs. This research contributes to the advancement of antenna design methodologies, showcasing the potential of PSO for efficient and effective optimization across different frequency bands.
