Resumo: In the cultivation of conilon coffee, different practices have been improved in order to optimize agronomic performance, ensuring the production and longevity of crops amid the typical adversities of the tropical climate. In scientific approaches that touch areas such as propagation, genetic characterization and tolerance to water stress, variables related to the coffee root system have gained attention, due to the role of this organ in the absorption of water and nutrients and its reflexes in the results of growth and productivity. However, despite the volume of published works, there is a need to analyze the degree of significance of the themes, the behavior in the temporal evolution, notes for future study and application in research. Therefore, two works were developed. The first one, entitled “Trends and discoveries in rooting of the conilon coffee tree: a bibliometric review”, is an exploratory literature review, which aimed to carry out a bibliometric review and analysis in the Web Of Science (WOS) database about the main contributions of studies, researchers, organizations and countries relevant to academic research on the rooting of Coffea canephora. Constructed from the principles of the theory of the consolidated meta-analytic approach, with the results of the WOS base when searching the terms “Coffea canephora” AND “Root”, network and density graphs were elaborated in the Vosviewer Software. The results showed the evaluation of roots in C. canephora since 1982 with a study of genetic diversity and since it has evolved into areas of vegetative propagation (with herbaceous cuttings), nematology (resistance and management) and tolerance to water stress with a focus on the response of genotypes This area, together with topics such as climate risk, water management and drought tolerance, is a line of research where the root system tends to be modulated and investigated in depth in the coming years. Based on this, the second chapter, entitled "Rooting response of contrasting genotypes of Coffea canephora using IBA", aims to characterize morphological components of contrasting genotypes of conilon coffee, in propagation by cuttings and addition of IBA, emphasizing the quality of seedlings and root parameters. In this one, an experiment was carried out in a randomized block design, 2 x 2 factorial scheme, the first factor being composed of contrasting genotypes in rooting (LB1 and 02) and the second factor consisting of application or not of indole-butyric acid (IBA ) in the propagation of cuttings. The seedlings were evaluated for stem length and diameter, number of leaves, leaf area, root dry mass, shoot and total, Dickson quality index, length, surface area and root volume in ten diameter classes, as well as as xylem anatomy in stem, leaves and roots. There was no interaction between AIB and genotype in the shoot morphology response of the seedlings, however, for all other parameters, there was an influence of genotypic variations, in which 02 showed a desirable increase in terms of dry mass, expansion of anatomical structures and improvement of root architecture, through the increase of fine roots in length and surface area, while LB1 showed gains only in root attributes.
