This study had for general objective to argue the contribution of the Technology of the Information as a support to the financial and economic areas, aiming at to the guarantee of the efficiency and rapidity in the process of decision making for managers, and visibility in the financial demonstrations for the shareholders. Unfolding it in specific objectives, it also aims: (1) to identify to the structure and the functioning of the basic elements for analysis of the financial demonstrations in the support to the decision making; (2) to analyze the limits and possibilities of the support of the technology of the information in the economic and financial management; andd, (3) to demonstrate the effectiveness of the evaluation of the performance with use of computer-aided processes. It is characterized as a Study of Case of the one of the biggest store retail of the country, LASA - Lojas Americanas S.A. which, with the use of a software of financial analysis management, made possible to evaluate cautiously the economic and financial data of the enterprise with a specific social object , as well as giving the decision makers reliable and credible information, considering the data in the published reports from 2005 to 2007. This study emphasizes the basic relevance of the use of InformationTechnology linked to financial economic management to show individually the participation of each of them and the understanding of its applicability. Those tools allied to the information obtained with the use of a software guarantee not only to managers but also to shareholders the certainty to decide on new investments
